I got it yesterday. No changes I can discern. I was going to click on what's new but my Android Auto chose that moment to connect and wiped the prompt form my screen. Sounds like it's just minor tweaks at least. I have no idea where to look for the version number, so can't report on that.

I got it today. Had an annoying emergency vehicle warning take over the screen while I was in Denver this evening. And, of course, no emergency vehicle around.

I have noticed lately that I get notifications that a "Tow Truck Vehicle Ahead" and that is prior to the update, not sure the reason for that alert...

+1 - the new alert is not tied to update. I am still on 39.6, but that alert started coming up every time I drive by our firehouse. Useless and annoying. I hope Tazer develops a way to disable it like they did for TravelLink.

The emergency vehicle notifications are part of something called the HASS Alert Collision Mitigation system. It is installed on new emergency vehicles and should only be active when the emergency lights are on. There were 51 first responders stuck and killed in 2022 and 11 already this year.

I updated the software yesterday, and I'm now getting 40 MPG fuel efficiency!

I did this for fun on the way out of the mountains a couple weeks ago. 94.6 MPG!

Does anyone know what the new version number is? Mine currently says 21.32.14
I recently installed a new radio head because the OEM head had Canadian firmware in it and couldn't receive updates here in the US. My new head was built in Feb of 2023 and has version 39.7.0. I believe some of the OTA updates are 40.x.x

Yeah, I think that’s what my problem is. I upgraded mine as well and even though it’s OEM, it won’t update automatically. I’m going to have to figure out how to do it from the USB. ?‍♀

Does yours have the Canadian firmware as well?

I took mine into the local dealer and either they didn't understand what I was trying to accomplish when I asked them to update the head to the US firmware or they didn't know how. They said they did it, but when I checked when I got home, nothing had been changed. But they did charge me for it (as well as the rear window defroster repair that failed again within minutes of leaving the dealership). I'm not a very patient person so rather than arguing with the dealer, I paid the bill and moved on.

I was able to sell my old radio head to a company that repairs them. They gave me $500 for the old unit. That helped off-set the cost of the new one.

No, mine is US, but even if you upgrade to OEM, it doesn’t update and you lose some functionality. I’m really starting to regret doing the upgrade. I don’t like having a brand new car where some things just don’t work right. It’s the OCD in me. I literally had to put black tape over the red lights for the assist and emergency buttons because since I changed the radio, those buttons stay red. I kept my old radio in case I wanted to put it back.

And don’t get me started on dealerships. I’m sure plenty are wonderful, but in Southern California, it’s like, let’s do the least amount as possible and make the customer feel completely inept. I’m sitting here now actually and have decided that unless it’s a huge warranty issue, in the future I’ll just have my local mechanic do the work.
