I'm thinking about switching from a tazer to jscan. When you buy the license 24.99 i believe how long do you get it for is it a year type thing or??? And is it pretty easy to use?? Sometimes I'm computer smart and some times well not so much lol. Thanks everyone.

You'll need an appropriate dongle, but I have both Tazer and JSCAN. They each have benefits. When you use JSCAN, just unmarry the Tazer and it will be your security bypass. Then remarry and have Tazer functions.

Take this comment with some salt for sure. The price of admission for one license to one vehicle is forever. I have changed on one occasion for the same model, JK to JK and did not require a repurchase. On this latest JL aquisition, I did have to purchase a new license after already having a JL license, I got the 3-pack this time.

Man, I'm wondering if that old geezer @Rhinebeck01 passed away. He could be annoying at times, but he had a lot of indicate / interesting details of various things stuffed into his head.
Well I can’t find an obituary for him, but I found his Facebook and personal website. Neither of those say he is dead.

That's surprising. Maybe it just wasn't worth it to him anymore. People did tend to give him grief for his unique style.

Yeah… I understand people’s complaints about his Amazon advertisements, but they were easy enough for me to ignore. I might try contacting him, but if he’s not logging on or ignoring messages here, he might not appreciate it.

I used a Tazer many years ago and it's a solid product with pretty solid support but I found JSCAN more to my liking, I installed a ECRI bypass module here https://ecri.app/products/ecri-secu...lDEQRAoqhMCh0ZfC4Lh_Yb-m7V37EDd3pkkXEPUijQphZ as I got tired of using a cable and just leave it installed so all I have to do is plug in my module and fire up the app.

Cost wise the Tazer does cost more and handles some things better but for me JSCAN suits my needs better.

You can download the JSCAN app for free and try the demo option to see what it offers, I will say the JSCAN user doc is not super but interface is pretty easy to understand for the most part and it has a restore option if you make a mistake.

I did originally kept the ECRI plugged in UNTIL I came to find my battery dead enough to have to jump start the jeep…Jeep it unplugged now until I need to use it…locked in my center console with the stuffy center console lock box

mine has been plugged in for several years and I’ve never had a issue with it draining my battery, I can’t see how a module with just connectors being able to drain your battery as it’s just a bridge connector that connects the two cables that you unplug from the SGW.

I called him about 3 months ago. We spoke several times in the past mostly about Jscan. I explained who I was from the forum. He said, I dont know you and hung up. He sounded somewhat paranoid. I don't know and I don't want to speculate. :(

Weird from someone who publicly posts their name, phone number, email, and Skype (RIP) online.
