JLU Hinge Corrosion Warranty

Cost me $300 to have 2 hinges removed, prepped, painted and reinstalled on my 2022 when they did my hood.

My dealer did not charge for the labor and paint if I provided the hinges. They also painted the new hinge bolts I provided. Early on they couldn't remove the factory hinge bolts without significant damage and I was able to install the new bolts without damage.

I have a '25, do these have the zinc shims from the factory? I had bubbling on both my '18 and '21, I am hoping it won't be an issue on the newer models...

Yep, they just redid my 2022 Rubicon good but I had to pay for 2 cash for hinges! The warranty doesn't cover attachments.

My dealer in NH is stating that Chrysler is rejecting the hinge coverage even though the 5 year warranty expires in Jan. '27 and I have 57K miles. They are being told it's 3 years only despite this email I have verifying the warranty.

Can you help?

In Oct 25' I took my 2022 Rubicon to Firkins Dodge Jeep to get on the list. I'm January after returning from a month long trip I returned to Firkins to get my hood and 2 hinges painted. They did a beautiful job on my hood, decals and all. However, they charged me $300 to paint the hinges which showed the same kind of paint failure, claiming that the warranty doesn't cover anything attached! Well the good is attached and they covered that! What kind of warranty demonic activity is this. There was no road damage; it was clearly failure during the original coating process. Please advise...

I'm in the same boat. Per @JeepCares TSB 23-020-23 should ensure that the hinges are covered under the 5 year unlimited miles warranty. However, according to my dealer, a more recent updated TSB 31-001-26 is now only covering hinges for 3 years.

I'm waiting for JeepCares to do some research and see if they can coordinate with the dealer.

What company can legally change a warranty after purchase when you are buying the warranty as part of the cost?!?

@JeepCares all hinge, door, and hood, corrosion should be covered for at least 10 years given the ridiculous amount of vehicles that this has affected. How in the hell is my hood bubbling, bottom of doors, AND hinges? That alone is why i'll never buy another Stellantis product. That we have to fight and go back and forth with your dealer networks to get something taken care of that shouldn't even be a question because it's a well known factory flaw.
