Hello

Please provide your professional opinion
JLU 2018 with 37500 miles
While driving on the highway the engine shuts off
And after many attempts, I was able to start the vehicle
I heard knocks at the bottom of the engine
I immediately took the vehicle to a JEEP service center
After disassembling the motor we saw that all the connecting rod bearings were clean
And what's weird here is a connection drop
Found worn
Engine oil was replaced every 7500 miles with original MOPAR oil
What do you think caused the problem?

My Jeep is at the dealer right now because of a head gasket failure at 41,000 miles and they are telling me there is sludge in the engine and are saying it’s my fault because I did my own oil changes . They are saying the engine needs to be replaced . Did they honor your warranty ?

Are you using the correct oil filter? Jeep likes it best when you use their brand oil filter (Mopar). That way they can not blame the failure on an aftermarket filter. The oil passages should be checked to make sure there are no restrictions or blockages (like in my heart).

Also, someone should check out the oil pump to make sure the clearances are within specifications and the pump is providing proper regulated pressure.

Hi
At first, they wanted a full charge
After arguments, they lowered me to half price
I have to pay $ 7000

I understand you did you own oil changes, if that is the case you can not prove with documentation the maintenance was performed. I own a auto repair service and hear this all the time. I create a invoice for my own vehicles and that goes to carfax service history and I also add the service mopar.com / my account. Also MS6395 isn't what we would use on those. MS6395 oil isn't that high of a grade. We use SN/SN Plus like the new 2.0T calls for.

Like you, I also update my Mopar account when I change my own oil, but never thought about updating CARFAX too. I assume you can create an invoice and add the service to your CARFAX history because you own a shop, but do you know if there's any way the rest of us non-shop-owners can do the same? Seems like CARFAX should have a provision for this, since many people do their own services.

I'm just short of 70k and have a valve cover leak on the passenger side. It ain't leaking into the spark plugs or pouring down the side of the engine yet, and I've actually been keeping an eye on it for a few months now, but it's finally time to get it fixed. Seeing as how I'm a 2018 owner and my JL was one off the line in 2017, we "early adopters" are going to be the first to truly see the longevity of some of these original parts.

That being said, this is the first mechanical problem I've had with my Jeep. I'm incredibly impressed how well this thing has held up given the mileage and abuse it's taken.

Hello everyone
I received pictures today from the service center.
According to them, this is what caused the engine to malfunction
Do you think that makes sense?

At first I thought something grenaded inside the engine, until I saw the sensor. I now hope they aren't blaming you for this.

LOL
The first rule is to blame the customer
Then I reminded them that the second NEW engine they replaced was faulty and destroyed the catalytic converters.

Your new engine malfunctioned or is it still your old engine?

Blown catalytic converter would not cause ware on crank bearings. It might be possible for engine to draw back some of the dust into cylinders and cause ware on the cylinder walls.
