JL - Trailer Brake Controller

I just don't want to go the route of switching wires, diode/no diode etc on this rig. As painful as it is, I'm gonna wait for the MOPAR OEM controller to be released for the JL's.
Ya go jacking around with electronics on these new rigs and end up frying something, you'd really be pissed.

You're not jacking with the electronics on the rig. You're swapping a couple of the pins on the plug that connects the brake controller to the factory plug. It's really not rocket science. But I do think the MOPAR option looks nice.

If you need to tow now, what would your plan be?

Appears to me that many folks have done all of the footwork and discovered the best route to go, at this point and time

I just haven't seen any conformation that the 3073 triggers the trailer brake lights when the boost is initiated

We are doing a camping/hiking weekend this Saturday and I'll have a chance to test out the Redarc "manual activation" button. I'll report here if it lights up the trailer tails or not.

Its a small diode in-line, I belive its on the red wire. You should see some extra shrink tubing under the back mesh on the red wire.

Agreed.
I cut off that plastic adapter at the right (the one you're hand is touching), and reconnected the one that came with the Redarc. Color to color. So the diode is still inline, between where you cut and the Mopar plastic lighter grey adapter.

I got my Mopar brake controller October 29th. I was on a waiting list number 278 and it took 2 weeks to get.

I have the Tekonsha 3073 p in my JL and everything works but the elctric brake??? I got lights, turns, hazards but just 2 little lights on the tekonsha Primus Iq? I tried the other pigtail and everything worked fine except when you hit the boost the dash goes ape shit. I also blew a 30amp fuse hooking this pigtail up not sure what the issue is but when I boost it nothing, no lights no numbers

Did you modify the wires/harness? Do you have the factory tow package? Wondering if the controller is bad?

factory tow, It is suposed to be plug and play but no brakes, and controller says not connected cant figure it out.
