Redarc trailer brake controller

I've searched the threads here but can't seem to find a definitive answer so I'm going to start a new thread hoping someone can help me out real quick. My Jeep doesn't have factory towing package so I have the Mopar kit coming. I also got the Redarc trailer brake controller and will wire that in as well but my question is will I need a diode on the Redarc wire that goes to the brake sensor wire that is located in the passenger kick plate area? If so, is the diode something that a local auto parts store would have?

Hello, I notice you didn't get any replies but did you get your brake controller wired up? I my jeep doesn't have a factory tow package but it does have the grey trailer brake controller plug under the dash. I'm trying to find out where the other end of this plug is so I can run the wires to the aftermarket 7 pin connector I installed.
