Very interested in this trailer brake controller. Anyone have any experience with this unit? Is it Plug-N Play with the factory harness?? Scroll through the link pictures

I don't know anything about that one, but another member posted about using this https://getautowbrake.com/. It also looks pretty cool, but could get expensive if you have a bunch of trailers.

I have the Redarc Tow Pro Elite and I purchased from etrailer, where I got the wiring harness adapter as well. Between the two, it was a simple plug n play install if you have the factory tow package. Super easy. Looks like theyā€™re selling the two as a kit and have upped the price since I purchased in Feb...when I purchased the controller was $210 and the harness $20. Controller works great by the way and I highly recommend.

Not plug and play when I did it last summer. You need to get an adapter, and that adapter has to have two wires switched for it to work properly. I got the 3024 harness, swapped the two wires, and it works amazing. The only downside is the manual trailer brake button doesn't illuminate your lights when pressed--but it will still work on the foot pedal. The 3014 works but if you press the button it could mess up your computer, which is why I went 3024.

For anybody else going down this path - use the 3073-p harness and you wonā€™t need to swap any wires.

I didnā€™t like the red arc round mounting plate so I got creative ... also very stealthy ;)

LOL NICE.

Where did you put the controller? I've been trying to find a spot under the drivers side dash area for a while now....

Figured Iā€™d show folks what I came up with. Three 1/8th inch holes and some sheet metal screws worked like a charm. Attached to an aluminum plate under the drivers side dash left of the break pedal.

Jroever, the install looks great, how did you get the knob to go into the lighter hole?

There are threads that describe how to get the lighter out - it's a bit tricky. There is a tool for this but if I remember it right I just stuck some small zip ties or screw drivers in to separate the pieces. After that I simply 3D printed this adapter and the knob fit in just perfect.

Only bummer is that the magnet in the cap has nothing metallic to snap to so you don't get that snappy self closing feel from the original.

Final assembly with classy hot glue to make it a bit more snug.

PM me if you want the 3D print file and I'll dig it up.
