Well, I know you've already ordered your KMC's, but some info for others reading this thread. TrailReady makes beadlocks with numerous backspacing options. I have the 4" backspace wheels and it's perfect for a Rubi on 37's. They make from 3.5" to to 6" in 0.5" increments.
That’s a fantastic resource, I didn’t look at their website hard enough apparently. Good to know ?

@Northridge4x4 I cannot believe how fast these were delivered. Free shipping, to my doorstep in 48 hours. Amazon can’t get me batteries in that timeframe anymore.

You guys are the best ?

(I owe my mother-in-law a bottle of wine now, I had to call in a favor to have her bring these inside Friday as we were out of town for the weekend ? I never thought they’d get here that fast)

@Discount Tire has my Yokos at the local shop already, things are coming together quick! I’m bailing out Friday on a motorcycle trip, I may not have everything ready by then, but, come the first week of August Jeepeto should be new boot goofin

My local Discount Tire dismounted my old tires and mounted the new tires for me while I waited. I then took them home, got the outer bead on and bolted down the beadlocks. Took them back to DT and they balanced them right away. Burned up an entire morning, but way easier having them use their tire machines to dismount and remount on the wheels. I did my Swamper stickies completely at home and it SUCKED getting the old tires off and the new ones on the wheels. The beadlock portion was easy compared to getting the stiff tires on the wheels. Total back breaker.

Yep! Same process here. I remove the ring and let them take it as far as they can, finish the rest at home and bring it back for balance.

On our recent venture out west we lost a few bolts on the OE Xtreme Recon beadlock wheels on day one and had to make an emergency pit stop in Colorado that involved some begging, and some breaking down of our wheels in a Big O'Tire parking lot so they could mount the tires in a "normal" fashion on the wheels. Problem is, the wheels aren't wide enough to be within spec for the 37's unless they're mounted as beadlocks. That combined with the fact that one of my wheels isn't even machined correctly from the factory (the bolts bottom out before the ring seats) and it may be time for a new set of wheels for Jeepeto.

Option 1:
I've always liked the look of the KMC Machete. Does anyone here have any long term experience with them? Do they suffer the same issues of breaking bolts? I'm sure its more hardware and maintenance related, but I'm less than impressed with the Mopar beadlocks, and would like to have confidence in my wheels, so if they're going to be problematic it's a non starter. I do like the idea of a sacrificial beadlock ring on these for those scrapes and bumps they will inevitably face on trail.

Option 2:
Beadgrip tech from Method wheels looks promising. I have moved away from big trails these days in favor of "overland" style trails (still some wheeling here and there when it presents itself, just not chasing it) The added bead grip protection might be enough to confidently air down to low teens or single digits for ride quality while having a no maintenance wheel set which sounds fantastic. Anyone have experience with these? Anyone with pics would be awesome!

Option 3:
I'm open to suggestions. Doesn't have to be beadlock/beadgrip, although I do like the idea of having something there to help keep the bead.

Thanks in advance!
My vote is the second Method wheels, I’m new to the bead grip but like the setup. I didn’t use my OEM bead lockers because of the bolts and too hard to install. Will the tire store install these wheels? In Colorado the will not install beadlocks.

'Bead Grip' is different that Bead Locks. Doesn't have the 24 or so bolts that have to be meticulously torqued.

@Northridge4x4 is awesome, got mine there as well. Wheels look sick! UPS has lost 1 of my Bead Grips so far, and 4 others are in "weather delay" in LA.. bleh

KMC Wheels KM229 Machete Beadlock Wheel 17X9 5X5 38mm Offset Machined - Jeep Rubicon 2007-2018...png

Northridge about to make me act up ?

Anyone running -38 offset? Any issues? Gonna have to get ball joint deletes I’m sure but they are pretty ?

I’m realizing the bead grips don’t have enough back spacing for my lift at this point so they’re probably off the table, cause I don’t want to buy new wheels and need spacers.

Plus, then I match my mini crawler ?‍♂

I have to ask how much do you like your Axial Jeep? What scale did you go with 1/10 or 1/6?, did you do any mods to it?
I let a 1/6 scale slip through my fingers and it had a lot of extras including batteries and it had a upgraded motor and light bar etc. I`m still kicking myself for not jumping on it

I can`t believe all of the accessories available!

Ah, these are the “bead grips” I was talking about. Lol, I thought you were running a method beadlock. Yeah they should be reliable, no moving parts. I really like the idea of these. Gotta do find pics of your rig now. What are your wheel specs?

edit:

pics of @failsafe306 rig with the 702s for anyone interested.

I like the look, if you have a couple more pics would you care to share?

Can you give a little bit more info on how this was done, rim savers?

They look awesome! Like I mentioned to you I was looking for pretty much the same wheel.
KMC, Method, and Raceline are some of the few I have been looking at, I really don`t need a beadlock wheel but it may end up being just that. Did NorthRidge have the best price?
I purchased a few parts that were on my 18 JLUR and they definitely ship fast, the other seller
I had bought a lot of parts from was River City Off Road

Finally (FINALLY!) got the rig home from her date with the dealership (coolant leak at the buzzer 35k miles) and got the wheels on!

I’m so happy I went with the machined KMCs. It’s definitely a different look than I’m used to seeing around here (lotta black wheels) and I couldn’t love it more.

Pics ??

Just got home from @Discount Tire . Will get some better pictures tomorrow. So far super happy with them and not poking out too far out the fenders.

Those bronze look really good on white. I like that the wheel is not overly designed. Great choice!
