Good to hear!

How much trouble did the 3.5” BS cause you? I’m on MC GC lift, with MC tie rod, and drag links, but still on factory ball joints, I’m thinking if anything I might need some dynatrac ball joint deletes and I’d hope that I wouldn’t have any issues beyond that ?any input would be appreciated there.
Went with Teraflex joints instead of Dynatrac, that's not a great decision. I'm running 38s and the BS and heavy tires have definitely worn components faster. I'm upgrading as I find worn-out joints etc. So far I've had to rebuild my RK lower frame end joints, replace ball joints, replace drag link, and while I was in there I reinforced the trackbar mount and upgraded the trackbar. But I was running stock steering and trackbar when I initially started running them.

Icon makes an "Innerlock" that uses pins to keep the tire on the wheel.

I forgot about those! I’ll definitely be looking ?

Nate at Dirt Lifestyle (YouTube) has the Method bead locks and apparently went to 0 PSI in some snow wheeling in his Taco.

I’m assuming you’re talking about the bead grip methods? That’s impressive if so
I have these in Bronze... I love them. Lightweight DOT compliant and easier to install than bead-locks.

I was gonna say get whatever @wibornz has a half million miles on, but looks like the ATX Slabs are no more.
They are a strong wheel. It is to bad they are not available any more.

I also have the icons and they held up to 6psi wonderfully when I was a little too happy with deflating. Nothing major at Windrock maybe 3-5 rated trails but they did get the squeeze on some optional lines.

Don’t seem to be very many people running the teraflex nomads. I’ve been pretty happy with them, though admittedly had to tinker/clean a couple deflator valves so they would stop deflating at the set pressure. (May be due to mounting used old dirty tires?).
Pros: bead grip, built in deflator valves, modular rash rings you can replace.
I like my classic black but the newer split spike are pretty slick.

teraflex also has the Olympus bead-lock, rash rings drain water and has built in deflators. Not sure how durable compared to KMC or others.

I am definitely not a Teraflex fanboy, but the nomads work for me. I definitely would not put up with extra time or beadlocks.
FYI if it matters stock lug nuts are too wide and don’t fit, I got some OEM similar cheap on Amazon. Splines are the official rec. The split rings look like they have less room so may have to get splines for those.

I am going with the KMC Crawl with black bead lock rings. This was a pic off FB. They come with natural aluminum rings but I purchased the black rings that go on the Machete wheels that have recessed socket head cap screws. Then, I bought black coated stainless cap screws.

Short version - Mine will look similar to these.

I have had two sets of Machete wheels in the past without Issue. I was the only one to torque them and never had to do it again after initial install.

Slept on it, and I still can’t talk myself out of the KMCs.

Here’s hoping I don’t regret that offset ?

Thanks everyone! It sure is nice to have a large knowledge base at your fingertips, with unbiased feedback from the community.

Rock monsters are $$$, I forgot about those thou, good call.

I need to maintain less than 4.5” BS with the MC lift so I’m out on 8.5” KMCs, just trying to talk myself out of hitting that buy button on the 3.5” BS wheels at the moment, trying to sleep on it if I can resist temptation ?

Damn good point on the traction off road option. I’m half convinced if I went through the trouble of removing all the broken bolts I’ve got I might have better luck using the OE rings with some HDG or zinc coated hardware. I’m just annoyed at this point. I’d feel a lot better if all my wheels were machined the same ?
I see what your saying on the 4.5" or less back space MC requires.

I ran the KMC machetes' with 3.5" BS and 38's and have no real complaint on them except the scrub radius it will give you is not very optimal.

I just swapped to UD60's, and I thought hard about going with KMC again with 3.5" BS, but I ended up going with traction offroad beadlocks this time, in 4.5" BS.

I was looking at AEV Borah when I’m ready for new wheels and tires. What are people’s thoughts on those?

Maybe KMC will do a diffenrent offset if you ask. Also, pick up a couple extra sets of rings, you never know when a wheel design will be dropped.

You may also want to look at Walker Evans Wheels, which have been around for years.
