It's called the JEEP WAVE. We are part of the JEEP brotherhood. Wave at every Jeep
Agreed.

Wave at the Wranglers:
CJ,
C101 and C104 Commando,
DJ,
FC,
FJ (not Toyota),
JK,
JKU,
JL,
JLU,
JT,
LJ,
TJ,
VJ,
YJ,
Willys Wagon,
Willys Pickup
and especially:
PWJ (Pretty Women Jeepers).
Note: haven't run across an ugly one yet.

Even wave at the non-Wrangler family of Jeeps (they're still JEEPs):
BU (Renegade)
KL (Cherokee)
KJ (Liberty)
KK (Liberty)
MK (Patriot)
MP (Compass)
MJ (Comanche)
SJ (Wagoneer)
XJ (Cherokee)
XK (Commander)
WK2 Grand Cherokee)
WJ (Grand Cherokee)
ZJ (Grand Wagoneer)

Yep. Wave at em all.

On second thought...

Jay

There were no Jeep dealers in our area 17 years ago when we moved and our TJ was only 3 years old. There were a few jeeps in town but not many. Not even sure the wave was a thing (outside of WWII lore) but we started waving at camp jeep in '96 so that's what started us. Now, we have multiple jeep dealers and way more jeeps than I can count. I still wave, weather in the TJ or the new JL. However never waved in my lifted and modified ZJ, always figured it was a wrangler thing. I won't be a wave snob so go ahead and wave. Now, I agree with others, in Colorado or Utah, not sure it's warranted..every vehicle is a wrangler :)

Well that's me, If I find that your Jeep is bone stock, I'll be lazy and won't wave unless the other person waves first. Because honestly, the time value investment is not worth the potential wasted emotions.

The amount of enthusiasm I get to initiate a wave is dependent on how modded to the teeth your Jeep is. Basic time value vs reward, folks.

I don’t wave because I don’t care so many wranglers on the road these days

I'll wave at any and all Wranglers and Gladiators. But if it's another Mojito JL, then they usually get one of these:

The waves are hit or miss here in indy. It does seem to be some double standard issuses, however last weekend there was a Nacho that waved excitedly at us, of course im waving all the time but i think she was just happy to see another pretty color. Very few Punk'ns around here.
