I just assume guys or girls that wave at me are the off-roading type. I wave back - and if I see a dirty Jeep I will wave first.

I come from a history of motorcycles where (at least where I live) we wave... the world of customizing and building Honda Ruckus' and we wave, and road cycling where we wave...

I don't know if it's snobbery on my part... Or maybe a fetish haha but I prefer seeing Jeeps on the road that are unwashed :CWL: Here's mine and hope it doesn't get cleaner... Ever... I had very specific reasons for getting a Jeep and seeing it dirty lets me know I made the right choice :)

I drive a 2020 JLUR and am a fan of all Jeeps and have yet to experience snobbery by anyone for any reason for what they drive.

My Wrangler is basically stock, no suspension mods at all. At Jeep outings I make it out to, my Jeep pretty much gets ignored as the ones with the lifts, large tires and more mods get the bulk of the attention. Hell, I myself am more than interested to check them out too, as I appreciate all the time and money people invest into their hobby.

Sucks that some people have to be jack asses and condescending, F-e' m!

Enjoy your Jeep as it provides the qualities you currently require for its use.

You don’t have to justify shit to anyone in life
the fact that you feel compelled to and you’re bringing up vehicle pricing tells me it’s YOU that has the issue

also hire a financial advisor buying 8 of the same generation of vehicle is for people with unlimited wherewithal and you’re statements show that’s not you

If you get worked up over the things people say or do, you'll go crazy. There's always gonna be people who feel the need to be better than other people and they like to use every opportunity they can to draw attention to themselves. Since Jeeps have price tags into the atmosphere, they are one of those things people can buy to feel superior. I think it's cute when people are proud of buying something expensive just because it's expensive. Congrats?

I have the cheapest JL I could find. It does everything that I needed and it's the most fun vehicle I've owned... and I don't stress so much about scrapes and dings like I would if I had spent thousands more on it. My Jeep isn't a status symbol, and I like it that way.

Some people embrace prejudice as if it was Sophia Vergara. In my 75 years I've owned vehicles of many types and makes and have listened to hundreds of reasons about why I'd made a poor choice on most of them. I've never bought one for status - including Porsche, Jag, BMW, Mercedes - but because I liked them and/or had a use for them. Reading the comment sections of automobile articles I often see people remark that Wranglers are bought as a status or macho symbol and I peg that as jealousy by misguided wannabes. I freely admit my Sport S is a daily driver which will never be driven far off the beaten track. However, I feel confident driving it in all weather and don't worry about banging along on the country's crappy roads. I've never had anyone high-hat me for the Sport but if it happens, I'll politely tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

LOL! That reminds me of what it was like to drive my Dodge Challenger. I got pulled over four times in six months: every time the cop would be ogling over the car, but I still got a ticket...or two.

That car couldn’t have attracted more cops if it had an open box of donuts on the trunk. So I sold it. Life is already too exciting as it is.
So, you got all twisted, because you got pulled over and ticketed in a sports car several times, and blame the car, or was it the "Cops". It couldnt have been because you were violating the law??
Now, your Nickers are in a twist, because you feel people look down on you, because you drive the Sahara model Jeep??
i think I have this figured out.
BTW, not all Police Officers are into donuts. Oh, and cracking donut jokes(not that you would do it), while being pulled over on traffic is a sure way to get the ticket you deserve, and not be cut a break. Just saying. :like:

My Jeep has been dirty now for 10 days since the last camping trip, and it bothers me to no end.

Just waiting for work to lighten up and the weather to improve to give it a good clean.

I am in the snob category, someone has to be. After three TJs a JK and JKU all starting life as Sport S models, I finally got tried of being a second class Jeeper and got 2020 JLUR with almost every option I will use few of. I don’t wave to any stock perfectly clean Jeep, especially if it not a Rubicon. Only built up Jeeps without any chrome get a wave.
Ok that was ALL written SARCASTICALLY ! I don’t really feel that way.

I personally like all Jeep JLs and find almost every trim level or price point interesting, each having its own pros and cons. Jeeps tend to be very personal items more so then most other trucks and we all have our wants and needs for them. Some just like the looks, some just need it for bad weather, some off roading and some for all of it.

I am in the “all of it” category that’s way I chose this time to just go straight to a Rubicon, plus I am tired of building up my Jeeps and wanted it mostly done from the factory.

Unfortunately the Jeep community built up the Rubicon name as the “bees knees” and the only the Jeep that could be really used off road (I must have read that a thousand times over the years). This was and is false, but it caught on with the general public and this make the uninformed public put the Rubicon name on a level it doesn’t really belong on.

Something has gone into overdrive with JL, though.

BTW, my hypothesis on why Californians drive such fancy vehicles is because any shithole costs a million bucks, so a $50,000 JL seems like chump change in comparison
They drive fancy vehicles because those people make more in a month than many people do in 6 months.

There’s some truth to that.

When I lived in California I didn’t mind the high taxes and home values because I was getting paid very well.

However, if you have a shit job, you can be very disgruntled living there.

And even all these people throwing all their cash for a show jeep, it is their money and their choice, and theyre happy. So whatever. But we can still laugh about it!

The trick is you sell the house for a nice profit and relocate with your company and keep the nice salary. That is the best of all worlds, get much more for your money and get away from the greatest legislative clown show on the West coast. Of course there is still Illinois, which from all I have heard is even worse than California. I lived in California for almost 30 years and only go back to see family or some of their National Parks.

As for the purpose of this thread, I have never experienced Jeep snobbery in Arizona at least. People are outgoing and we have a great community. I am not in the Phoenix metro area, which may be different as it is the fifth largest city and tenth largest metro area in the country.

Just enjoy the hell out of your Jeep and don't let others opinions take a second of your energy. Miserable people will be miserable all the time. Stay positive and live life to its fullest. Get out and explore, that is what the vehicle is all about.

In the area I live, Wranglers are as thick as flies. Kids get new if not fairly new ones on their 16th birthday. So, You really dont see snobs, as far as what type of Wrangler you own.
As for the clown show on the West Coast, well, a lot of them are doing exactly what you said, and have moved to different states, and brought their beliefs with them. The same ones that destroyed California.
