One of the big advantages Bronco has that myself and other have touted is that you get a pretty significantly more powerful engine for only $1800 vs all the wrangler upgrade options that cost significantly more. I want to see what that $1800 gets you. A comparison with an eco diesel would be fine too.
Being several hundred pounds heavier, the bronco needs the extra hp/tq. Simple power to weight ratio.

If I walked next door for a cup of sugar and my wife rode a rocket ship around the block to arrive at the same time, there wouldn't be anything for her to brag about.

Not just heavier but also larger in volume. Drag will increase with speed.

Intersting to you or not, usually it's for comparison.

Like how long it takes to screw a 6" screw into a log with a Milwaukee or DeWalt drill.
People want the best in whatever class.
Agreed, but drag racing registerable off road vehicles is more like a comparison of which cordless drill could hammer a 6" long nail into that log. It's more playtime than consumer research.

But they(Jeep, Bronco, FJ) are first and foremost on road vehicles.

My personal take, when digging a tad deeper? The Jeeps #1 priority from the get go is the offroad, with on road drive ability as a close 2nd, so long as #2 doesn't encroach on #1. The Bronco is the polar opposite, which again in my opinion, was a smart move on Fords part. Rather than risk it all by going toe to toe, they simply filled a gap that jeep has always avoided. A large enough gap in the marketplace, of those that want the Rugged look, but a docile and familiar daily commute.

Yeah, I’m the one with the 4 door struggling to find out if it’s better damage control to go just 2 front doors off, or all 4. But honestly it looks awkward either way so you gotta just embrace it. But with tube doors it looks much better.
I just go with the 2 front doors off because of my daughter in the back. I don't care what it looks like, it's just fun to drive with the doors off.

I was sold on the 3.6 for it’s history of durability and it being a very common motor. I don’t recall checking the 0-60 times before buying. My Jeep is pretty slow compared to our Golf R, so I don’t really take much consideration of it being slightly faster than a Bronco. It’s still a slow vehicle, but kicks ass off-road and is still pretty fun elsewhere.

Edit: Maybe I take that back. A manual 3.6 does 6.1 according to a quick internet search? MKVI manual Golf R is 5.7! My JLR doesn’t feel that fast at all, 35s taken into consideration too. In fact my 4.0 ZJ feels as fast somehow.

I get the sarcasm but.... it's not completely pointless, is it?
in my opinion? Yes, it’s completely pointless. I could care less that my jeep is faster or slower than some other vehicle. If I wanted a drag racer, I’d buy one.

as a reminder, speculation was that Fords EcoBoost powertrains would be clearly superior to Jeeps powertrains. That isn’t the case in either MPG or performance. So you can say all day long that it doesn’t matter blah blah blah. But you know that this isn’t what you expected.
