392 excepted. What is the point of drag racing a Wrangler? About as interesting as racing economy rental cars.

Intersting to you or not, usually it's for comparison.

Like how long it takes to screw a 6" screw into a log with a Milwaukee or DeWalt drill.
People want the best in whatever class.

The 4XE Wrangler is so much vehicle for the money once you factor in the discounts and tax rebates (for me was state and Federal). For my 4XE Rubicon I was at $43K after incentives and rebates (4XE has a ton of standard features, but I also ordered the premium soft top, proximity, cold weather, etc, do pretty loaded). We are averaging 35.2mpg over the first 2K miles.

What does a similarly equipped Bronco cost in the real world? From order to delivery at the dealer was 28 days.

The 4xe seems pretty awesome. Looks like similarly equipped Bronco will be in the $60K's.

You want to see a 2.7 turbo 6 vs a 2.0 turbo 4 to take it more seriously?
One of the big advantages Bronco has that myself and other have touted is that you get a pretty significantly more powerful engine for only $1800 vs all the wrangler upgrade options that cost significantly more. I want to see what that $1800 gets you. A comparison with an eco diesel would be fine too.

Even if it is $50K's I can't justify spending $10K+ more for a Bronco that does not have HP/TQ or MPG advantage. Clearly the Bronco has other strengths but you have to factor in discounts and rebates. There are lots of Jeep dealers selling for 5-7%+ under invoice + other tax rebates.

Yet with the Wrangler you wouldn't need to since the Bronco and Wrangler with it's base engines are pretty similar. What the Wrangler offers is options.

I have a 392 on order that I got about 8% off MSRP.
I got $9K off my current 2020 JLUR that I built to order.
Ford seems to hate their customers.

Luckily we’ve got TFL taking the Bronco on some sort of difficult trail tomorrow. Sounds like they are taking it and someone else is bringing a 392 on 40’s for comparison sake. Should be the most interesting video yet!
They went on Redcone on Sunday, which is a decently challenging trails in spots, and
lost the Defender in the process.
Now they're going up Wheeler Lake which has some good obstacles that are not avoidable. I've taken my TJs up Wheeler Lake, but I am hesitant to take the JL up there. Not because of the major obstacles, I'm sure I can get through those without issue, but as you get closer to the top it turns into this annoying hill of watermelon sized loose rocks that just roll around under your tires. My concern on my JL is getting those rolled under a diff or elsewhere. I haven't put an engine skid on yet, but if I had I wouldn't hesitate about going up there. Interesting note is that the trail also gets narrow up there. Last time I was up there my buddy in his JKU was fretting about pin-striping his paint, not an issue in a TJ. Unless that trail has been widened the Bronco will get some pin stripes if they go clear to the top.

heh.... I'm not an environmentalist but I would be annoyed if they did that, probably write them a dirty email or something. As dumb as it is my mind immediately goes to "you going to start throwing down concrete next". I'll be honest, I'm not even a fan of people stacking rocks on the trail. Not that I haven't but I then go back and kick the rocks to around about where I may have found them. And don't get me started on the assholes that build random cairns all over the place.

I'm a lot of fun at parties

Gave me a chuckle. I am the same way.

The bronco still looks retarded with the doors and roof off. Am I the only one that thinks it looks like if you took the doors off a mini van or normal suv. Just looks like an after thought so it can grab some of the Jeep market share and appeal to Jeepers. If the body was more square and less rounded it might look better. But Jeep really looks beautiful with the body style and doors off.

The 2 door sure, but the 4 door not so much.

Yeah, I’m the one with the 4 door struggling to find out if it’s better damage control to go just 2 front doors off, or all 4. But honestly it looks awkward either way so you gotta just embrace it. But with tube doors it looks much better.
