They talk about this in the press release, it was added for additional rigidity just for Raptor:
All the steering components have been upgraded.
I’m surprised more people aren’t excited about the Dana 50! No chance Jeep doesn’t use that piece of beef. Would be a perfect upgrade for the...
Honestly this is not that good of a deal. A comparable base 4 door Bronco with Sasquatch is only a bit more expensive but comes with lockers, upgraded shocks, power windows and locks, and a bigger touch screen.
Bare bones as it gets while keeping the good stuff! White Base 4 door, V6 engine, aux switches, Sasquatch. My JK has crank windows/locks, and the stock head unit so this is an enormous upgrade in the tech department regardless. To go even one trim level up and add the mid package would be almost...
I haven’t gotten a build date yet, I switched to a soft top to put me to the front of the line.
I would bet I have a 50% chance of getting it by October, and a 90% chance by the end of the year. It sounds like Ford only has about 10% soft top orders and their capacity for hard tops is about 60%...
You’ll love it. I enjoy my JK for what it is, it’s been my daily for 2 years and will be for at least another few months. The JL is a total game changer.
Going to be super curious to see how this thing runs. That is Loren Healy’s Bronco that is running about 2” of lift, aftermarket bumpers and rock rails, and some 37” tires. Based on what the 4wp rep said this is about as much you can build up a Bronco without starting to gut a lot of stuff up...
Honestly as a Bronco fanboy, I will completely confirm this. The JL is closer to a Bronco in ride quality than it is to the JK. It’s so much better than the JK it’s almost on another planet.
BUT, the jk is horrible. So if you’re coming from something more civilized it makes sense that it would...
Can confirm. Got to ride around with them, it was amazing even though I’ll admit I’m 100% biased. Yes you can get a SFA vehicle to be extremely good in the rough stuff at speed. But the amount of work you’d have to put into it to match a stock bronco would be extremely high. (Just like getting...
That’s what’s so cool about competition. Now there’s options, you can pick and choose trade offs. Give up some articulation for on road manners and the ability to haul ass down some washboard roads or so some desert running. Or go all out and pick up an Xtreme recon and you’re ready for 37’s...
Until it’s time to go through some whoops or catch some air… then Bronco dominates. Is wrangler going to be better in the rocks? Absolutely. But Bronco is WAY better in the desert running stuff. It’s all trade offs.
Eh… my Bronco build (4 door base, Sasquatch, aux switches, V6) MSRP’s at $43k. It’s pretty tough to get a rubicon 4 door that low, and considering the price of the Xtreme Recon package it’s a pretty darn good deal.
Only problem is the base is basically like a Sport S and you can’t option...
It is a seriously impressive little engine. When I drove the JL Rubicon with the 2.0, coming from my 3.8 JK I was blown away. Turbochargers are magical.
I want to see all of the above. Comparing like for like, it seems as though the 2.3 Bronco and the 2.0 Wrangler are extremely comparable. The Bronco is a bit more powerful, but also a bit heavier so it evens out. A guy ran a Bronco 4 door 2.3 with 3.73 gears and 32” tires on a drag strip, and...
One of the big advantages Bronco has that myself and other have touted is that you get a pretty significantly more powerful engine for only $1800 vs all the wrangler upgrade options that cost significantly more. I want to see what that $1800 gets you. A comparison with an eco diesel would be...
Luckily we’ve got TFL taking the Bronco on some sort of difficult trail tomorrow. Sounds like they are taking it and someone else is bringing a 392 on 40’s for comparison sake. Should be the most interesting video yet!
Sure. Jeep doesn’t have an equivalent engine to the 2.7, so in that way it “isn’t fair” but if Bronco gains a decent amount of speed for only $1800 that’s a pretty big advantage.
To extrapolate a bit more, here is the most fair test of a Bronco yet:
No 0-60 time unfortunately, but the 1/4...
I posted it in the other thread since someone was claiming Bronco fans have just stopped commenting but I’ll post it here:
These comparisons are honestly pretty pointless until we get apples to apples comparisons. Comparing Broncos on big tires to jeeps on small tires, hybrids vs non hybrids...
I’m still browsing here. These comparisons are honestly pretty pointless until we get apples to apples comparisons. Comparing Broncos on big tires to jeeps on small tires, hybrids vs non hybrids, Broncos on low octane and unknown modes, etc. I drove a Sasquatch Bronco on the street, it was...
