Congrats on the new jeep!
Those prices are ridiculous. What’s even worse is that most of these vehicles are less reliable than they were 10-20 years ago and are now twice the price

I still have the Sep'70 issue of Road & Track featuring the new Ferrari Daytona (with one photo showing indicated 180mph--legal back then--and 7000rpm, Nevada desert scenery out the windshield). New price an eye-popping $20,000.

Wow! I think they're all too high but yeah, after seeing some of those prices, I guess I did Ok.

Expensive is expensive. It's just a matter of degrees, or, to borrow an old metaphor, rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I do take an odd delight in observing the year-over-year price increases of my factory order. A '25 configured more or less identically to my '21 would require an add'l. $4K (a '24 needs another $3K.) All things considered, that's not too bad, but it's all relative.

The profit on each 392 sale has been alleged to be $50K per vehicle. We'd like to see a defense of that one. ;)

Just to clarify my original post a bit. I'm not arguing that vehicles are not overly expensive. Yes, they are. I'm just stressing that compared to other manufacturers I don't think Jeep is necessarily out of line especially for the Wrangler model. I paid $63,403 for my fully loaded 2025 Wrangler Rubicon X with 35" tire package, Sky One-Touch, Warn winch and tow package. Of course, I worked with a dealership that offered substantial discounts and had to travel to pick up my new Jeep as my local dealers wouldn't come near that price. You definitely need to shop smart to get the best pricing.

Inflation is inflation. I remember buying a first allocation 2004 Subaru WRX STi at MSRP and it stickered at a whopping $34,300! Today a 2024 WRX GT has a base MSRP of $44,215. Ouch!

At that price it better come with a lifetime powertrain warranty like my 2009 3.8l wrangler did or your gonna be sorry in a few years when you need major repairs while still having a 70k+ loan
