I've disliked these window controls instantly when I was out looking to buy a JL. My exact words when I tried to use them were, how in the Hell do these work? Along with. Some engineers need to go get a refund on their degrees!

So it's not just long fingernails that's an issue. It's a poor design that no one needs or requested.

We shouldn't have to put a finger into a pocket to move a simple window control switch!

Solution to me is rip them out and put normal rocker switches in place. Or have an aftermarket switch insert that extends them to be easily accessible. Just brainstorming here.
I think this is the real answer. There is no reason (other than cost cutting through using the same switch) that these have to be "pull" switches. The idea behind that style was for door-mounted switches that one could lean on and inadvertently shut the window on themself. It would be almost impossible to "lean" on these, and if you did, it is highly unlikely you ALSO have a limb out a window.

Basically, you just need a way to retrofit an early JK switch panel into a JL. They were plain rockers if I remember correctly.

Too funny dude!

Also... my winch doesn't say "b/=+Ă— operated" for no reason. I do speak my mind.. i just get tired of putting people back in their place.... replying to aholes can be time consuming... id rather be.... painting my nails! ?
Since you are a girl and a jeeper, I have to ask...
Have you ever tried painting your nails with Bedliner? ? (that might look badass).

Seriously though, I would think you might be able to operate the switches with your knuckle until someone comes up with a fix.

Make a thumbs down gesture with your right hand. Move thumb to window control, Use the pad of your thumb to actuate switch. Your thumbnail should be extended outside the switch pocket pointing down.

Does that not work?

I hesitate to even post bc of all the rude reactions this might get but here it goes....
I am a girl.
I love jeeps.
I want to put my windows up.
But i have nails and thus the little fingertip window buttons dont allow me to fit my nail with fingertip into them enough to get leverage to push the window button down. Only my nail "goes in" if that makes sense. Daughter and her friends have the same issue.
Yes i can cut them shorter and thankfully in the summer I do but in winter my nails are always longer bc I'm not doing hands on crap as much and am instead looking picture perfect at holiday functions.
I would LOVE if someone could 3d print slide/stickon button extenders.
Im tired of looking for the clothespin to close a window.
First world problem i know.
No "cut your nails", "long nails suck" ect responses needed.
These are my real nails so no "princess type" responses either.
Sad I even have to buffer my questions these days.
Anyhoo.
If you like back scratches, then you like nails so help a chick out and tell me this product exists or throw some ideas at me. Im about to e6000 some tounge depressers on the suckers bc the 392 buttons are hella stiff compared to her 2020 rubi and that would be just ugly. I could bedazzled them.... JK!
And No i cannot just use my nails to pull up on these dang window buttons. Even at the most painful leverage force amount the button doesnt move.

Jeeps!
Just a thought, but it's a Jeep and we all make mods. Can you (or someone else) take the wiring from the windows, which is fairly simple stuff, and put it to a regular toggle switch on your dash?
Hook up an Alexa Auto and make the windows voice controlled!

Completely missed this earlier, obvious answer is to go out late at night and swap the window buttons from her Rubi to yours. Trim tool and a screw driver.

I can deal with the design, though I agree it's not ideal... I just wish they had AUTO UP!!!

Would using your thumb make a difference?

Another idea, years ago I pitched a product idea to one of the aftermarket vendors. They ended up making it and sending me a free unit. That was cool.
