I initially didn’t understand why you wouldn’t pull out money to avoid loosing value to buy a vehicle that would.

But now that I’ve read your story, what I don’t get is why you are even 2nd thinking this with 2 big dogs. Imagine how comfortable they’d be with a 4 doors rear to themselves with the seats down.?‍♂

I have a pretty big dog and he is ecstatic with the back to himself. Can’t imagine 2 German Shepards in the back of a 2 doors, my boxer was comfortable by himself in my 2 doors with no rear seat back in the day.

One rides shotgun, female lays in the back with the rear seat gone. Not a problem.

Ok. Update for the collective. Bought the 392, with the total realization it will NOT be my last Jeep. Same Jeep just sold at Mecum for $120k. I will tuck this in the corner until I see what happens in 2024. If they don't make the 392 I will keep it in the stable or run through auction. If they do make a 392, well, then I guessed wrong and will decide what to do at that time. Sooner or later I will order a 2 door Rubicon with a 6 speed and that will be the one I drive. When I drove the 392 to the garage I remembered why I bought the 2 door! Anyway, not a big deal, cars come, cars go. Thank you for tolerating my babble. I do appreciate your collective wisdom. Stay safe out there.

Quite the odd plan you have there! But hey, to each his own.

2 door is gone. Saved 4k in sales tax by trading. Fear not, a 2 door will be back in the garage in the near future. Only change will the replacement 2 door will have a 6 speed rather than the auto the traded one came with. Real Jeeps have 2 doors and 3 pedals! LOL!

No wrap, might be temporary depending on what happens in 2024. I am hedging my bets in case the 392 is discontinued. Been cleaning it up and ceramic coating the beast, and have to say the color is growing on me. Impressive in the sun!

Even if I was rich I don't know if I'd want the 392. I REALLY want the twin turbo V6! Until that comes out and if it's at a price point I can afford, I'll stick with my little 4 banger. To each his own though, you're the one owning it, not anyone else. Who cares what others think, get what you want. I got the little tiny 4 banger motor because I'm compensating.... :CWL:
The twin turbo “Hurricane” V6 is sure to be powerful and fun, but there’s something viscerally satisfying about a V8.

I have a 2018 Raptor. Unlike the Gen-1 Raptors which came with a rumbling V8, the Gen-2s came with a turbo V6. It makes more power than it’s predecessor, but it doesn’t make my guts jiggle like the V8.

Older guys will remember the Burt Reynolds classic “Cannonball Run”. In that movie there was a high-tech Japanese team that had a fast car that was quiet and incredibly boring. It’s not just the performance of the vehicle. It’s how it makes you feel. If the 392 is an easy financial lift for you, and you love it, buy it. We don’t have that much drive-time left. I’d do it if I had more money, but I don’t, and I’m too old to consider having a car payment.

A friend of mine became a principal in a healthcare company that subsequently made huge money. His initial stock options increased in value more than 1000 times over less than five years, leaving him a HIGH multiple of what I could earn in several lifetimes, so he and his wife have been buying fun cars (and everything else). He ordered a C8 last fall with every available option, including all the carbon fiber goodies. His order came to over $160,000. If you can afford one of those, and the insurance that comes with a 200++ MPH car, the extra $30,000 for the Hemi is probably insignificant... especially since life is short, and our driving life is even shorter.

I’ll live vicariously through my friend and you!

Just an FYI, the Hurricane engine is an twin turbo Inline 6, not a V6.

OP, II think you did the right thing. You can always pick up another 2 door if that's what you're inclined to do.

Copy.

Does it rumble like a V-8 (or even an inline 8)?
