Never was a plan to get rid of my Deep Ocean Blue Metallic 2019 JLUR (I initially thought, UNLESS they came out with the 392 in my favorite color). BUT will eventually do the AMW 392 conversion and as others have said, it will probably outlive me.
Looks like the min for that conversion is $32K? Not sure I can make sense of putting that much cash into a 10+ year old JL ...

For whatever reason, finances, boredom, leases, mechanical, how long are you planning to keep your JL Wrangler?
Also, what is the reason behind your decision?

This use to be an easy question. Originally I planned on keeping this until I am six feet under, & pass it on to my son. With the unfortunate rust issues popping up everywhere, that has skewed my plan. So, I plan on keep this until it rusts to the point no one wants it; or it starts rusting & the wife tells me to trade it in.

Death or rusted out.

I kept the last one for 20-years. My '23 2-door JL might last that long but I likely won't. I'll be 93!
The rust may take the Jeep before the earth takes you.

Bought mine brand new...ordered it actually ,so my name is on the window sticker. Have thought about trading in for a 392. I got 30k out of the first 3.6, and have so far gotten 60k out of the SECOND 3.6.

I'll replace the motor again if required. I cannot justify paying $100k for any vehicle. But I can justify paying $10k for a motor 10 times, I suppose.

I don't know. Tonight, tomorrow, next week, a year, 30 years from now, never. I have no plans to get rid of it, but who f'n knows. Life throws curveballs and sometimes I get a wild hair and do something I didn't plan to do. That is how I ended up with the Jeep in the first place.
Same, hell buying the Jeep instead of the Taco got us to move to Colorado so who fuckin knows what tomorrow holds.

I could kick myself and probably should for ever driving anything else. I love driving, modifying, gawking at, showing off, and off-roading my JL short 3-pedal fun machine.
I will keep this until it is no longer and if I am still around look for one that is as engaging to drive.

Who wants a boring drive?

Well my first jeep was a 21 Sport S JLU. It lasted four years until I got the itch again. Wife was mostly impressed that I held on to it that long, though I did have an 2.5 AEV lift with 35's and replaced the basic audio system.

I now own a 25 Rubicon JLU as of last month. Wife is not impressed with me anymore.

I do plan on keeping this one a while longer because the first couple of years of a new design are usually buggy. So no new jeep until 2030ish.

Given that I always have at least one, I'll always have one. Just perhaps not the same one. Most likely I will watch for the corrosion issues as I did the last time I traded.

As long as it's practical to do so. That's my general approach to most things, not just a vehicle.

I had intended to keep my YJ for the long term, but it was a lemon and so it had to go. I'm making up for that with my JLU, which is why I've given it an easy life. Well, that and the fact that its replacement cost is something I may choose to reject.

I'm driving this thing far less than I thought I would. But when I do, I mostly enjoy it.

Usually, I kept my vehicles 3-5 years tops, because I had various deduction opportunities for getting into new vehicles for business.

Business is kaput, so I'm not sure if I'll keep it until it starts reaching some higher cost maintenance things (tires, brakes, etc) There's no cost benefit/incentive to me in getting rid of it for another vehicle now.

Then again, given the lack of miles I put on this thing (I just hit 9k miles this past week 😅), I wouldn't be surprised if the years outpace the mileage milestones if I decide to keep it longer 😆

But, I've been eyeing '71 Firebirds to buy sometime next year as a gift to myself, so who knows lol

Originally bought as a hunting vehicle, things have now changed. It is a rock crawler, and altho it is my current DD, i plan to keep it forever, slowly making upgrades until it is simply a toy for the trails.
