My apologies if this has been discussed before. I am looking at hitch receivers for my 2-door JL sport. There are many different brands of the same type on Amazon etc. Is there any specific brand that is recommended or any brand I should stay away from? I see prices from around $40 to over $200.

Thanks

I bought the Quadratec kit that comes complete with the wording harness. The apparent quality of the harness versus others sold me. Ihave had great experiences with @Quadratec so far. I haven't installed it yet though. Looks great on my work table lol.

The Quadratec kit is of good quality and the Hitch install is pretty straightforward. I still haven’t done the wiring harness yet though because I got sidetracked.

I did the Quadratec with the 4 pin wiring harness. Easy install and have had no issues.

If you need the wiring for trailer purposes, the Quadratec kit seems like a good way to go.

For us, we don't do any towing, but occasionally carry a bike rack so we needed just a plain hitch. I found all three of ours on Marketplace - mine was a used OEM JK hitch for $30 (holes line up perfectly), and then found two used OEM JL hitches for my wife's and son's. I think I paid about $40 each for those.

As others have mentioned... I used the Quadratec receiver plus wiring harness kit. Pretty straightforward install. Looks factory. The harness ties into your tail lights easily with their piggy back connector. The wire run goes along top of the frame into the engine bay along the cowl.

Have towed with it multiple times and lights/brakes behave as they should. Receiver has held up well, no rust so far.
