I bought mine at quadratec and it works great. It's not as fancy as those by Thule or Yakima but also doesnt' cost anywhere near as much. It is easy to use and you can open the gate with no problem.

I have this one, and it's good for 2 bikes even though it has 4 spots. Almost impossibe to fit 4 full-size bikes on there without them rubbing against each other and banging into each other while driving.

My kids are younger so just recently my oldest moved to a bike that can fit in the bike rack. We have put 2 adult bikes and his 24" bike in it and works fine, but i imagine fitting 4 adult bikes is likely difficult without rubbing each other, if they even fit.

This is the only way we could get 4 mountain bikes on this rack - wasn’t pretty. Definitely looking for a new rack for next year.

I need a receiver hitch bike rack for 5 bikes. I was considering these two racks.

The vertical type (3 popular brands) can carry many bikes with ease of loading and no rubbing, but they are super expensive (>$1,000), heavier, block the driver’s rear view, and bulky to store while not in use.

The traditional style is lightweight, cheap, easy to store while not in use, doesn’t block rear view as much if at all, now has an awesome easy quick hitch connect/disconnect so you don’t need tools, but loading 5 bikes can be a puzzle.

I ended up ordering the traditional. Only this brand has the quick disconnect feature.

Vertical type:

Then I was thinking which type would handle off-road punishment better. Neither really, since all vibration and hits transfer directly to bikes.

Is it a worst transfer of shock and vibration when bikes are mounted on their wheels or on their frame?

I guess if mounted via wheels then the bikes’ shocks alleviate things a bit, but then again wouldn’t the bikes be thrown around more if mounted via their wheels, then if they were more solidly mounted via their frame?

I purchased a Küat Sherpa several months ago and have been very happy with it. Bikes are super stable on it. Easy to take on and off. It's really been a great bike rack so far. Only downside I can see is that you can't open the tailgate on the JL when it's installed. They have other options if you're willing to pay for it, but for me, didn't really want to spend the extra money.

I also got the Hi-Lo Pro to be able to extend past the spare tire.

There are cheaper options out there, but I've been very happy with this. For the amount of money I've spent on my bikes, it's worth it to me.

I have a regular (non swing) thule xt4 and 4xe on order, so im curious if it will clear the tire or if I need some type of extension to make it work with mopar hitch?
I understand that I won’t be able to swing open the tail gate, I’m ok with just the rear window working since xt4 can bend at 45 deg outward.

thank you

Kuat HiLo with standard 1Up rack. Clears great, and super solid.

Without the drop the rack would not clear.

Hope the pictures help.

Tried to get the 1UP Equip-D Double, but looks like a 8-12 Week wait currently. I went with what I felt was the next best choice and I really like it - Kuat NV2 Base. First use Memorial Day ...

How's it like opening the tailgate door? I know the Kuat allows a diagonal lean, but is it enough to open the tailgate door? I'm looking into the Kuat as well.

I perfer the Kuat NV 2.0, I have the Kuat pivot 2.0 on the way so I can open my tailgate. The fit and finish is great.

I love the Kuat NV 2.0, but unfortunately it doesn't lean down far enough to open the tailgate. I also added the (passenger swing) Kuat Pivot v2, which works perfect on a Wrangler. It works like it was specifically designed for it.
