Anyone have any experience w/a hitch-mounted bike rack w/a 37" on the back? I need a rack to hold 4 bikes.. I'm looking at a Thule Apex rack but would love to see one or talk w/someone to see how if fits before I buy it. Thanks!

I have 37s and have the Kuat Sherpa 2.0.
https://www.kuatracks.com/product/sherpa-2-0/
I did add their Hi-Lo extender with it mounted to drop the rack. I can open my tailgate all the way (with no bikes on the rack). its solid and doesnt move. several trips on the highway to the beach and in the mtns to trails. all good.
i can add photos later you would like to see.

I'm running this setup with 37" spare.

I had to get an 8" extension to clear the tire. I use a hitch clamp between the extension and bike rack to reduce the wobble but there is still play between the hitch receiver and hitch extension. With the bike mounted I use a couple of ratchet straps to connect to my after market bumper going around the bikes to take stress off the hitch and helps reduce the wobble even further.

The rack drops down to give you clearence for the back door but that's not happening, I have to remove the rack which is easy enough to open the tailgate, and the rack does fold up which is nice when you take the bikes out.

The bike rack itself is heavy duty, simple, and sturdy keeping the bike secure.

Good luck with whatever choice you make.

The Quadratec bike rack above worked perfect with my 37" tire, even comes with an anti vibration bolt. No movement at all, Save you money.

It appears the cradles don‘t limit the bikes from swinging during braking and acceleration. How did it perform in actual use?
