Anyone have sound deadening on the inside of their hard top Wrangler?
Just saw some kits advertised for the first time and looks interesting as I think a bit quiter is better.
Insulation factor in cold weather a plus.

My wife's JLUR has the factory stuff in hers. It was in there when we bought it used so I can't attest to how much difference it makes.

I have the factory stuff, and I added some butyl rubber with foil backing to the top underneath of it. I'm seriously considering the Coverking Topliner.

It makes zero difference. I have had it and the only difference it made was my wallet being lighter... and that's it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is simply engaging in confirmation bias.

I will change my mind if there is empirical testing that objectively shows a noticeable difference in noise reduction in a Jeep Wrangler... Until then, save your money.

Yes, I have the Hothead Headliner with their sound deadening product. I think it works but I didn't take before and after measurements. Based on the fact that adding mass to hollow panels (like our hardtops) reduces resonance, I'm highly confident it does make a difference.

If you are interested in sound deadening, I embarked on a further project of the floors with actual measurements using a real sound level meter: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/sound-deadening-with-decibel-measurements.128202/

You picked the one thing that is verifiable, and has been proven.

I saw a video of someone who added it to a SOT top. It was an extra fabric layer that went below it. He did a before and after measurement with dB meter, doing the same speed each time. It reduced noise by about 1.5 dB. Not a game changing amount, but a 1.5 dB difference is noticeable to the human ear.

I’ve installed the oem roof liners plus I’ve added HotHeads roof completion kit and I CAN’T say it has gotten quieter but I can say that my music sounds better. IMO, the difference is like listening to music with some budget Amazon purchased earbuds then switching to some expensive Bose headsets. The music sounds “warmer” and clearer.

I had the factory liners, ordered the "finishing kit" for the strip that's missing above the "roll" bar, as well the sound strips.
Since the factory velco was letting go, it was a good time to peal them all off and apply a better 3M adhesive then the sound strips everywhere...then reinstall that fabric panels.

Not night and day difference, but improvements as people can how hear me better (less background noise) on the hands free.

Worth it...? That's situational dependant... for me and what I noticed yes it decreased the road noise.

I agree.I did the Hot Head roof liner with the sound deadning and using a decibel meter there was no difference. I do think it helped with the temp though.
