Headlight high-beam splice point

Finally got my KC prototype harness installed (only testing it, haven't wired lights yet). Works!

The passenger side isn't really a tight fit for the harness, but it's a tight work area - at least with an AEV snorkel and hands the size of mine. I used a Christmas tree clip puller to help get everything lined up and plugged. The process only took a few minutes.

A little red, white, and blue + ground:

I'll probably remove it to cloth tape it, then reinstall. And, I'll likely clip off the butt connectors and add marine grade spade connectors for a relay.

Awesome! Thanks for your help. We plan to add some type of loom on it, make it look more finished. Then extend the leads about 3'.

I finally got a chance to diagram out my lighting for the off road lights. Mind you, I did the diagram a month after completing the lights, so I "think" it's right. . . Use it at your own risk. Thanks again to KC Lights for the high beam splice.

you can see I was able to wedge the relay box in between my winch solenoid and the aux switches hookup

THANK YOU @KC HiLiTES for sending me one of the demo wiring harnesses that I FINALLY got to install today as the shit in my life is almost settled…

The wiring harness:

So my first lighting upgrade I did was installed IPF lights to my bumper and connected them to Aux switch 2. They were an upgrade to the high beams at the time, but when I got the KC Flex4 Cowl Light, they kind of became a waste of my Aux 2 switch because I never used them. I still love the look with the IPFs so I wanted to still have them be usable.

SO I decided to try the new harness and have them removed from Aux switch 2 (swapped the Flex4 to Aux Switch 2 from Aux Switch 3) and have them come on when I use the high beams.

The harness plugs in between the head light connector harness end and Head Light Connector end.

So all you need to do is disconnect the Harness connector out of the head light connector and plug new harness into the headlight connector and the Harness Connector into the new harness:

I ended up cutting off the butt connectors that came on the Demo KC harness and used heat shrink to seal ends and tied into the Blue wire that was to the high beams:

I then had to tuck the harness installed with zip ties and run a extension wire from the wiring in the engine bay that couldn’t be shortened:

- I could use the blue wire on this harness to trigger a relay (high beams on would turn on the relay)
- I could use the black wire to also ground that relay
- my aux switch wire would be the power input to that relay
- the output load from that relay would go to the lightbar.

For the lightbar to turn on, I would need the aux switch on, but then nothing would happen until I turned on the highbeam as well (so both are needed to turn lightbar on). To turn off the lightbar from that point, I could either turn off the highbeam or turn off the aux switch.

Also, could you split the tap into the blue wire in the harness to two relays and trigger them both through the highbeam switch?

Samples were shipped out yesterday.

Keep in mind that this is to be used with activating a relay to control another circuit. Not to power a higher amperage circuit.

There are a few ways you could wire it up. I think most people would just run the power from the battery with an inline fuse to the relay, then up the lights. Then use the high beam blue wire and ground to trigger the relay for activation of the light.

That would be a cool way to set it up. We plan to start production of these, but our team is still getting situated from our recent move from Williams AZ to Flagstaff AZ. Once settled in, we can start production. I'll try to keep updates in this thread.
