The 2.0 turbo has no issue at all with 35" tires and the stock 4.10 gears.

if you regear would you do it through the dealer to preserve your warranty? would an extended warranty cover a regear performed by a dealer?
what if you went through a shop ? would a jeep that has new gears be covered for an engine issue if the regearing was done by s shop?
I wouldn't trust a dealer to change the gear oil, much less install gears. They almost never do that work so they have nobody who can do it right. Any reputable off road shop will have someone who does gears regularly, and they will warranty their work.

The only thing swapping out gears does to your warranty is related to the gears alone. It doesn't violate the rest of your warranty. Hell, the only way they would know you've regeared is if they looked at the actual gears in the axle and knew what to look for.

Find a reputable shop. Have them do it. Rest easy.

Regeared my Sahara 3.6 to 4.56 when I lifted and went to 35s. Lower MPG, but I like to have fun in twisty roads and don’t speed on highways anyway. I grew up with too many speed traps that conditioned me for life 😅

This! When I took my sport in for its first oil change they didn’t even notice it was a sport because of the rubicon stuff I have on it. The sales guy even asked how I was enjoying my new rubicon! I had to explain that I swapped some Rubi take offs onto my sport and his eyes went wide! The dealerships really know nothing other than how to sell cars.

probably not all dealers, but many… and I’d bet the ratio is eerily close to 100% among the sales teams. Same thing in any brand in my experience, sales training is too process heavy and not customer centric at all.

4.56 gearing that I set up myself in my garage.

I jumped on it a bit this morning on the on-ramp to I-95 at 5:30am and the back end broke loose a bit. Fun times, makes the Jeep a lot more fun.

Yeah. These dealerships in particular. Most of their customers are military so they have a very high volume. So they don’t really focus on the customer. My sales guy who was promoted to finance manager is a car guy so he definitely takes his time and chats. I mean he even let me take a 25 392 for a test drive on Thursday!

Dealerships typically let you take almost anything out for a test drive. They're looking to sell a car. We are talking about a Jeep, not a Bugatti. If I pushed a shopping cart into the dealership full of trash they'd call the police. If I drive my Jeep in there they'd let me drive almost anything on the lot. I have Rubicon wheels on my sport, we drove into the stealership to test drive a top end Wagoneer. When we were driving out the saleswoman said "I like your Rubicon", I told her that it was a sport. LOL!

Truth be told I’m not really interested, but the majority of the pictures I have seen on this forum are just dirt roads….
Here is another dirt road pic for you. Logandale area outside of sin city.

Excellent point. The only time that'd come into play is when there's an issue with the gears, at which point @wanderer would need to go back to the shop that did the work.
