4.88's with 37's and I have 8th gear back. So much nicer to drive.

4 Wheel Parts in Pelham AL charged me 2100 out the door with a 3 year no questions warranty and a tire balance. Seemed fair enough to me...

Waffled back and forth over 4.88 or 5.13... did the math, read about others experiences, and talked to the shop... I don't "offroad" much and like where you live, there aren't any rocks to crawl... so I decided to go with 4.88's... 5.13's would be fine and the difference between them is negligible so I opted for lower cruise rpm on the highway... on the 70 mile drive home, I went from an average of 15.4 to 16.7 mpg... you can't go wrong with either option in my opinion...

Been lurking on multiple threads in this sub forum. @b1er — has your acceleration from a dead stop noticeably gotten worse? For highway purposes the biggest complaint I have is too low RPM at ~65 MPH and needing to constantly give the Jeep more gas to downshift. I used the Tazer to recalibrate and I actually have the problem that my auto tranny up shifts too easily. I’m constantly up-shifting and slowing down with the same pedal force. I do not see as much impact in city driving. Trying to weigh the benefits of dropping $$$ to re-gear. I’m in a Auto Rubi with 37 KO2.

no, it got better after the gear swap... my rpm @ 65 mph, like yours was way too low... as soon as mine shifted to 8th, it'd start slowing down and I had to get it to downshift to 7th to regain speed... then it'd shift back to 8th and slow down again over and over... it wouldn't maintain speed in 8th...

After the swap, it cruises about 400 rpm higher, 65 @ 1900ish, 70 @ 2100ish and 75 @ 2300ish

Mine feels like it did stock... good acceleration, good power for passing, maintains speed well... I'm glad I finally did it...

Spicer gears and install kits... That's the only company with gear sets out now in quantity for the JL... parts were about a grand with 800 labor...

Congrats on the Re-gear! Just curious, was the re-gear done on your Sport or Rubicon? I will most likely re-gear once I go to larger tires.
