The big advantage of the automatic is the torque converter. It lets the engine rev a little faster even when you're crawling. That gets it up into a better RPM range to build torque.Its the manual though. I thought the manual had better crawl ratio than auto?
The manual needs a lot better crawl ratio to compensate when crawling. The engine will run at lower RPMs after you let the clutch out because you are in a direct drive situation. At low RPMs the 3.6 doesn't make much torque. The deeper gears multiply that inadequate torque better.
