Yea, I think some people just are scared when they read a few bad anecdotes. You can't really blame them, but it's completely illogical to take a smattering of anecdotes and hold them up as objective truth. I mean, somebody posted on the last page that they had to shout with their spouse just to be heard at highway speeds. That's their anecdote. But mine is the total opposite: 70mph on the highway, my wife and I were speaking at normal volume back and forth, no issues. So which of us are "correct"? What is the truth? Am I lying - is he lying? Why would either of us lie about something like that?

So, yea... which person are you going to believe? Are you going to take one person's story of missing paint/rusty welds as the Gospel truth (haven't found any spots on mine yet) and amplify those few stories by posting about them repeatedly?

It's just the nature of the internet or any public forum, really. You just need to be aware of human tendency and arm yourself with that knowledge when you're shopping for a new car, especially if you're going to visit an internet forum and read about personal experiences.
To me, if there is loud excessive wind noise (moreso than the JK) then it's an issue.

If I need to speak a lot louder (with the hard top on) to talk to someone in the cabin while I'm on the highway, it's not going to work for me.

That being said...and this ties into your post...
My wife has a '16 JKU Sahara. After reading this thread I asked her if she thought her Jeep had a lot of wind-noise while on the highway. She said, "Yes, I can barely hear the kids when they ask me something." Now...I've driven in that Jeep countless times...on the highway...and never thought the wind-noise was excessive or intrusive to the experience. My wife had never complained about it before (aside from when she was using the BlueTooth phone in her '12 Sahara)...but when asked, she said that she hates the wind noise.

Maybe it's not just different for each Jeep but also different for each person and their expectations.

Picking up mine today, with headliners from the factory, so I will keep you posted ;)
Good luck ... I read on the forum, multiple times, that from now on RCA was sending all the JLU's with wind noise, iffy welds, paint flaws, ESS issues, back-up camera issues, cheap leather, missing decals, etc. to Canada for you canucks to deal with.

Can I ask if anyone that you've been in touch with has gotten this issue resolved by the dealer?
I believe I have followed up with you in PMs on this. However, in order to be transparent, please know that only two other customers have actually followed up with us in PMs and do not have appointments until April. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist customer who do not reach out.

Did you go through the @JeepCares private chat to your dealer?
Yes..... Jeep Cares does not do anything about it if the dealer says it’s okay.
So Jeep Cares .....not so much.

Here is the question because I would be doing this anyway...

Does having headliners fix most of the problem?? I would be adding headliner and sound deadener throughout the top and floor anyway.
Headliner does NOT fix the problem. My dealer tried that and noise was the same. Going in next week again and hope they can fix. I had two JKs with no issue with wind noise. There is no leaking air that I can feel but sounds as if my windows are cracked at a high speed.

Good job Julie @JeepCares for calling @Kenc out on running in mouth for nothing.
Nice sometimes to let others know if some are louder than they should

Here’s some objective information....

Using a decibel meter app on my phone, on my regular morning commute, holding said phone in the same manner about ear level towards the center about 12-18 inches from the windshield;

My JLUR averages about 3 decibels LOWER than my 14’ JKUw. The high spikes (potholes) in the chart are the same level between both jeeps. Both are hardtops. JK has headliners.

Subjectively speaking, i notice more windnoise at the top of the windshield in my JL. Perhaps that’s because everything else is so much quieter.

(Engineers please leave me alone, i have no interest in pedantic arguments regarding testing protocols. Its a phone app, i get it.)

Cheers

Actually Julie, I did. Not only did I do that I also have the voicemails where we have spoken on the phone as well. Feel free to look at the screen shot of the messages between JeepCares and I attached below from a month ago.
No need to apologize. Just check next time before you make a statement like that on a forum.
Thanks
