Ford’s Grabber Blue looks darker than Chief

I've said it before, but Chief is the best color I have ever saw on a Wrangler. Just saw this one in the sunlight a few minutes ago and had to get a pic. Simply Gorgeous!!! It's just soooo beautiful. Certainly Hydro is a close 2nd and the only acceptable color current offered, but Chief still wins by a pretty good margin.

The Chief package (pictured) JK was available in Chief, Gobi and Rhino. So that's Gobi.

JK tan colors were Sahara Tan (late 2011/early 2012), Dune (2013 & 2014), Mojave Sand (2016) and Gobi (2017 & 2018).

Interestingly enough, Sahara Tan was discontinued in 2011 because one of the pigments used in its production was sourced from Japan, and its availability was interrupted by the Fukushima disaster. My Sahara Tan JKU was one of my favorite Jeeps.

Chief is definitely a slap you in the face wake the hell up kind of color. Can't miss it. Definitely reminds me of Fords Grabber Blue. Pretty sweet.

It's funny you mention Gobi. This Jeep was parked about 1/2 block away from the Chief. I'm not sure if it is Gobi, but I am sure it is unequivocally the fugliest Wrangler I have ever saw.

But someone liked it, so that's what counts!

Great color, particularly since back in the 70's it was called grabber blue on ford mustangs.

It's still called that on Mustangs. Lol
