What do shopping cats have to do with mirrors? Returning the shopping cart is being respectful of the next user. Do I need mirrors on my Jeep for the next driver? Having mirrors isn't doing anything for the driver next to me, as I'm still going to signal and LOOK before I change lanes regardless.

And I'm changing lanes not trying to throw it in reverse on the freeway? How far back are you trying to look out the side of the jeep? The center mounted mirror allows me to see every lane behind me beyond 50 feet or so. When did anybody argue they were going to remove all the mirrors?

An entrance ramp with a Yield sign isn't exactly merging either. You do not have a merge lane in that scenario. The original point brought up was for merging with traffic.

I don't necessarily agree with this. I think it's considerate, returning it to the corral definitely helps prevent carts from accidently rolling into someone's vehicle. If someone is in a hurry and doesn't return a shopping cart, I for one certainly wouldn't judge and consider anyone a bad member of society. What's next? Scan & bag your groceries or you're bad for society. I certainly don't want to do all that, great day I'll be there for half the day.
