Pissing people off on here doesn't pay the bills. It's fun, but it's not helping the financials.
You need a better agent. 🥴
I'll get by, enough folks who take this shit so seriously that honestly the butthurt and whining is its own form of payment.
In case you guys didn't realize this yet, @Remorseless is not only the King of Sweden, he is also a billionaire! Don't let his humorous demeanor fool you, that dude has three private jets, and nothing you say to him will hurt his feelings. Anyone out there who says money doesn't buy happiness, has never ridden in a private jet before, or bought a JL Wrangler with pocket change!

Let's all just be thankful that he's not aiming the space lasers at us right now!!

I'll bite. We can disagree all day about the safety of side mirrors but I really think the safety aspect is down to drivers awareness. I can't tell you the number of times I have been run out of my lane while I am staring at the orange blindspot monitoring light on the other cars side mirrors. These features are helpful if used correctly but not required to safely operate a vehicle.

My sentiment about being a menace was hyperbole to react to some of the people extreme safety claims and calling people Karen's for driving without side mirrors. It's hard to indicate in text but that was my intent.

As for the legal aspect it varies state to state. As a person who, in a younger life, has been pulled over more times in a year than most people will be in their entire lives (I have the license suspension notice, hanging in my garage for being a "habitual violator of traffic laws") some of these people's reactions are insanity. When you are pulled over, you are polite, follow the officers instructions, take your warning or ticket, and continue you about you day. Court is where you argue and tell the officer he was wrong.

In my experience telling an officer he is wrong on the side of the road will results in 3 tickets in a single stop. Even though he was absolutely wrong about what he said, he didn't appreciate the sentiment and reacted in kind.

OP had a clever and cheap idea.
I find one flaw in your otherwise good comments….. How many are going to take a day off work to go to traffic court, or just write the check. I did once, after a 45 in a 25 speed trap ticket. The 25 mph sign was completely obscured by overgrown trees. When the Judge looked at my pics he asked “where’s the sign” I pointed out the pole going into the tree….. did everyone else ticketed in the speed trap (3-cars working it) get the charges dropped ?…. The next time I went down the street the trees had been trimmed.

I got a ticket once and Granbury, Texas. The cop told me that because I've had so many speeding tickets in like a 3-year period or something like that, if I got another speeding ticket I would lose my license and have to show up in court and shit. He had recommended I take a defensive driving course and go to the courthouse and basically tell the judge that I'm going to do better and with the defensive driving course the charges for that one would be dropped. It was a good recommendation, but the fine was only $75, and I lived about 2 hours away from Granbury, so I just went online and paid the fine and changed my driving habits.

Same difference in the end I guess!

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys Sport EcoDiesel does not have a right side mirror, nor does it have a center rear view mirror. In fact I only have a driver side mirror! On top of that it didn't come with front sway bars either!

I survived just fine for the last 3 years.
A little bit of body roll isn't going to kill you!

The good news is if you get into a fender bender no one will notice.

After much debate (in my head) and lunch I think your insurance rate should go up if doorless with no mirrors.
No big bad cop took my rights away crybabies ...just simple risk /loss math.

I enjoy going to get inspected with no doors or side mirrors on the Jeep. It's tremendous fun, I highly recommend it. Oh, and it passes every time.

Hi. Are you new to driving? Do you know that side mirrors are used for being aware of your surroundings while you are driving forward and looking forward? Scanning. You look at them constantly, in rotation, as part of being safe and aware on the road.
No. Not new to driving. But apparently I am new to constantly scanning between the windshield, rear-view and side-view mirrors. Jeebus, that sounds exhausting... and dangerous. :surprised:

Taking Completing the defensive driving course typically gets rid of points (if your state has that concept) and can help to keep your insurance from going up when the ticket hits.

Note that I've discovered that FBI agents don't exactly appreciate an honest answer of "Yes, I plan to continue breaking the law by speeding" when they ask me such an absolutely ludicrous question.

I guess the Eco part is them giving you a mirror.
