SWIFT!Does that go for people driving slower i
Not disagreeing with what you said but there are some truck drivers on the roads that shouldn’t be driving also.

Since this is an act rarely seen on the road they are propably wondering WTF...If I need to cut a semi, I always go way ahead of the driver and stay in my lane with my signal on for a couple seconds to make sure the trucker is prepared for me to move in. Do you truckers appreciate that or wonder wtf I'm doing?

When we have a clear indication of what you are doing, and you give us time to prepare for it, we sincerely appreciate itIf I need to cut a semi, I always go way ahead of the driver and stay in my lane with my signal on for a couple seconds to make sure the trucker is prepared for me to move in. Just takes common sense snd in some cases no sense. If you're able to do 70 mph in a snow storm, you don't need 4 wheel drive engaged.
All 4 wheeled vehicles come with 4 wheel brakes. Going is rarely a problem but stopping is.
The problem is not going fast in snow. The problem is coming to an emergency stop. If you were in a legit snowstorm and needed to brake fast the vehicle or person ahead of you on the highway would've been screwed. I don't see how that's worth it for anybody just to get home a bit sooner. Everyone's invincible until they're not.Just spent about 6 hours plowing snow in a snow/ice storm. Saw speeds of over 45 mph in the bigger parking lots and speeds of 60+ mph on the hyw. Not bragging, just don't think its that big of a deal. If you drive on snow or ice a lot. It is not as traumatizing as some make it out to be.
Agree shit happens real fast. The problem is not going fast in snow. The problem is coming to an emergency stop. No real problem is people don't make accurate assessments of their vehicle's capabilities, their driving capabilities. I am not advocating that if you don't know how to drive in snow to drive 65 mph and tailgate people. Maybe you should stay home on those days. I am not advocating that if you are diving 65 mph in a snow storm that you should tailgate other drivers.I am not advocating that If you can't see, drive faster. The problem is not going fast in snow. Newbie question. It's recommended to go into 4WD less than 45mph. What if I'm going 70 and hit a snow storm? Must I slow down on the interstate?
This post sounds like a whole lot of no thank you to me. As much as I hate the CA politics, between the winters, the humid summers, and mayflies, I wonder why anyone lives anywhere from New England to Wyoming. We tried northern Pennsylvania for a year and the summers were worse than the winters for me. I'll stay in the south west where I can drive up to the snow in an hour or 2 and never have to deal with it otherwise.Driving home from Grand Haven Michigan to Lansing on Monday. Between Grand Haven and Grand Rapids, I saw approximately 30 vehicles in the ditch along I-96. The Hyw was free of snow, but completely iced over. At times speeds were below 5 mph and up to 40 mph. I could have pulled most of the vehicles out of the ditch. I was in my Jeep, and had all of my recovery gear with me. How many did I stop for, none. there was to much traffic. I imagine that some of those people waited 4 or more hours for a tow truck. Normally the drive between Grand Haven to Grand Rapids is about half a hour. It took about one and a half hours. On a side note, the Light house on the pier in Grand Haven was awesome.

Sorry but what is FAD?On the JK Rubicon, the max speed 2H - 4H was 55 mph. On the JL Rubicon it is 45 mph due to the addition of the FAD. Slow down to 45 mph when shifting the T-case and be kind to your Jeep.
FAD = Front Axle Disconnect. It prevents the front drive shaft from rotating when you are in 2WD by disconnecting the front right axle. It was a surprise to me too.Sorry but what is FAD?
