Hello everyone, just for shts n giggles , anyone figure out some kind of light source for the dark ? I've been brain storming a switchable light source, where the glovebox open and the switch lights up some kind of light inside

please chime in ...

I used a stick-on light in a mini-fridge. It's battery powered (rechargeable via usb) and motion activated. Maybe something like that could work

You could use a magnet or one of those "clicking" switches -- don't know the name, but spring-loaded like a pen -- to activate it. I'm picturing a rock light recessed in a cut-out up top.
Probably want to avoid any actual wiring on the door since you need to remove it to access the cabin air filter and other things. (Because I was also thinking of lights on the sides.) Unless you have a plug you'll remember to unplug when removing the compartment completely.
It'll be nice to see what you do!

Yes the small switchable that pops up when the glove compartment opens and a small underlie type of light. Not too bright. Enough to see and I would wire two it into the footwell light

👍

There are lots that are battery operated and triggered by motion. The batteries last several months. I put one in a lower "tuperware cabinet" in our kitchen and it works great. Also using other of the same type near the fridge in the Jeep, but it's too big for a glovebox. Would need a pretty small one.

I looked into a contact switch and light like most vehicles have but lost interest. However If you come up with something clever I’m not above copying it.
i love figuring stuff like this lol , will keep everyone posted
