I considered a motion sensor and wondered if it would be continually triggered by stuff shifting when off road.

did you watch the video in the link ? looks like the motion sensor is pointing in the up direction maybe to avoid what you are talking about ?

just ordered it, might be a decent item Yurik accessories , i spoke to him and he designs it and makes it from his home/warehouse and said the batteries last a long time , of course depending how often the sensor gets activated it can be used in cabinets, and anywhere where there is a dark/light source upon sensing it ....

Hello, i just received the Yurik Accessories glovebox light, i will post photos soon, it has an ambient light sensor, its decently bright for a dark glovebox.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this. Seems like the perfect solution and is cheaper than anything I would build myself.

Here are a couple of quick shots. I installed it last night. It’s not bad at all. It does the job. It’s bright.
the white half moon is the ambient sensor. In my photos it’s still light outside. I’ll take another shot in the dark
