Maybe I am missing something, but I have to ask. Once removed, does the dangling gas cap get in the way of the pump handle/nozzle when pumping gas? Every time I fill up I have to make the pump handle/nozzle fit in and around the darn gas cap which seems to be in the way. I should probably just get a longer cord for the cap, but maybe I am missing something.

Nope.. same issue here.. I can make it fit with the cap to the left of the nozzle but it takes some effort

I just hang it over the side of the gas cap door, no issues. Maybe get a door if yours doesn't have one.

Depending on the tether (JL's do no all leave the factory with the same length tether) you may or may not be able to do as you do with your JL with fuel door.

Read here, this whole thread.. it is very easy to replace the tether with a longer tether:

tether.60564/

Then you can hang on a fuel cap hook or hang the cap over any fuel door.

This is the correct answer. I rest it on the fender flare.

You were shortchanged. You need a longer tether too.

(all kidding aside, have not seen that before)
