Stellantis - Think about this idea - Listen to the end user across the market and see what is the possible.

That‘s what the engineers did when Mercedes Benz bought Chrysler - and one of the best products they delivered was the Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU.

Is there an avenue to provide Jeep the products We, the end user, are looking for? Send out a link at a minimum.

Recommendation - Solicit and listen to some ground truth end user inputs (I.e., market survey in old school marketing vernacular) especially in view of the current situation with the sales, etc.

End game - GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT.

The problem is the Wrangler market is bifurcated now. Prior to JL, Jeep was blue collar, jeans and t-shirt. Now some of those guys are still around, but there are also a fair amount of BMW/Audi/Porsche types that want totally different things out of the brand.

I for one have zero desire for the Hurricane engine. I want vinyl seats, vinyl flooring, a V8, one ton axles and 5.38 gearing. If I wanted efficient and modern I would buy something else entirely.

JeepCares is in most of the Jeep forums. They should be able to feed the factory information, on what we the consumers are looking for. They should also be the factories eyes and ears, to help guide them in the right direction. So the real question is, does the factory really care, what us consumers would like to see. Or do they just live in their own sheltered world.

I hate to break it to you but the outline of the next Wrangler has already been set in stone by the engineering team at this point. Crash structures and other "hard points" are already done. With this there is no way to make changes to things like which engines will be available, either they made the front end long enough for the Hurricane I6 or they didn't but it's too late now either way. The only thing the clay model people are doing right now is detail work and even then they are at the tail end of the job. The actual design of the next Wrangler has probably been set for a year or more at least if not longer. Understand that since they finalized the 2024 (originally 2023) refresh they have been full steam ahead on the next gen Wrangler. The "hard" choices like keeping SFA or going IFS have already been made. We (the general consumer) likely won't know the outcome for several more years unfortunately.

There's a few non-negotiables in my mind:
- Body on frame
- Solid front and rear axles
- Completely removable top (not just a t-roof or targa top)

If you go unibody with IFS/IRS and a sunroof then it's no longer a Jeep it's no different than the dozens of other SUV/Crossovers out there

You're giving them a lot of credit. Next Gen Wrangler was scheduled for 2028, which history with this company tells us will probably be more like 2030. That's six more years. At the rate things are going, this company may not even be around in six years and/or the Jeep brand may have been sold off to new owners by then. They say the search for a new CEO is going on, but it better find success soon and the new CEO better be a rock star because Stellantis is sinking fast.

Vehicle development takes years. Suppliers generally need 2-3 years notice for tooling and such. If they aren't a good way through development by now it's definitely not coming by 2028.

Jeep has been around 80+ years under half a dozen or so different owners. Jeep will be around long after Stellantis is gone and no one even remembers the name.

The ZJ Grand Cherokee was fully designed and ready to go back in the AMC days and not launched until years after Chrysler bought Jeep.

Oh I'm sure the new CEO will be a rock star. He or she will probably have enjoyed a very successful career in a non-automotive field, like hospitality or ice cream.

The longer Stellantis hangs onto the Jeep brand the less value it will have to a potential buyer. Brand reputation is important and the lack of development coupled with quality issues are hurting sales and thus valuation. If I were a betting person I would guess Stellantis will spin off the Jeep brand within the next 12 months. I don’t know if this is a positive or negative…we shall see. It would seem that GM has a pretty be gap in its line up that a Wrangler could fill. Not sure about the rest of the lineup however.
