Obviously none of these will ever get made, but two interesting observations:
1) None of the Wranglers nor the Gladiator got the Hurricane 6 but the concept based on the Wagoneer did. Tells me JT and JL will never get the Hurricane. If we're lucky, the J70 will but I wouldn't hold my breath...
It's a recycle of the 20A parts - rock sliders, grill guard, onboard air, and toolkit. Watch all of these things become optional for all Rubicons and standard on the Rubicon X (with a big price increase) in 2025. Or they'll rebrand the Rubicon X as the Rubicon Hard Rock. History repeats.
As someone who has built multiple heavily modified and fast cars over the last 30+ years, take it from me, leave your 392 Wrangler engine alone. Spend your money on suspension and off road stuff.
The limited hp you can get from bolt ons on a 392 is not worth it IMO. CAI adds almost nothing to...
Not sure why you're replying this to me. I just said the the JL is not getting the Hurricane 6. It's possible that the next generation J70 Wrangler gets it. And the 2.0 and 3.6 aren't going away next year.
Overall length of the 392 is 29.625 inches.
Overall length of the 3.0 Hurricane is "just under 34 inches".
That's a difference of 4+ inches.
Go look under your hood and tell me if there's 4+ spare inches fore/aft of your engine.
Could they "make" it work? Of course. But it would entail...
It's not happening. Other than the updated 4xe in 2026 (bigger battery basically) there aren't going to be many changes to the JL. Now that they did the mid cycle refresh for the 2024s, they're just going to milk the last few years of the platform for profits until the J70 comes out.
If it's any consolation, Jeep announcing yesterday that the XR package will now be available on 2 door Wranglers should give you some hope that XR might come to the Gladiator in 25 or 26.
Which seems silly. It's JUST going to be a decals/plaques/embroidery package. The Rubicon 392 is the best factory Jeep ever made and the 2024 is IMO the best of the Rubicon 392s. The Final Edition package is going to offer next to nothing on top of that. They should AT LEAST offer the grille...
The TRX Final Editions have numbered plagues on the center console. I expect the Jeeps will as well. Not sure why people get excited about this stuff though.
It's probably helpful to look at what treatment the "Final Edition" TRX got, as the Jeep will likely be very similar.
- 3 new exclusive colors
- The standard wheels but with a Satin Titanium finish unique to the Final Edition
- Hood decal, hood badge, bed decal
- Dashboard and center console...
I've been buying cars for over 30 years. GM, Ford, and Chrysler/Stellantis. It's always been a horrible experience. Between the haggling, them trying to sell you pintriping package and extended warranty, etc. plan on getting there early and being there all day.
Someone in the Facebook group posted they were getting 18.1 and I thought that was ridiculous but 25 was absurd. The highest I've ever gotten in my 392 is 14.6 and that was almost all highway cruising at 65, in mixed driving with a light foot I'm getting mid/high 13s. My 2015 JKUHR with a 3.6...
