Why would you arrive at that?
I was thinking that, as @alksion said, it's the only motor used in the 4xe. If they want to push their fleet mpg's up it would make sense to reserve enough motors to be able to build them? I could be totally wrong, it's only a guess. They may have so many future 4xe orders for them that they restricted them in certain builds. You can still order the 2.0L in other trims, right? Aren't they also making you get the XR package now on all 3.6L Rubi builds here lately? That's another way to force you into that upsell.

Welcome. You will spend most of your time in D. They say once you move to D1, either you will revert back to D, you rot in D1 for a long while or your build quickly proceeds.

What is your build BTW?
Thanks! I didnt want to bug the dealer since its only been a week or so...figured Jeep chat would give me the standard answer but at least wanted to see.

Its a Sarge Green Unlimited Rubicon 2.0T/AT
-LED package
-3 pc black hard top
-8.4 screen/audio upgrade
-tow package
-cold weather package
-doors off mirror kit

They’re not accepting orders for the 2.0 engine option till 2022 orders open up. That was confirmed yesterday by the dealer I’m working with.
I placed an order for an Unlimited Rubicon with the 2.0L back on July 14th and yesterday they are telling me that they aren't accepting orders for Rubicons with the 2.0L. I am fighting with my dealer on it because this wasn't the case when I signed the paperwork with them, but it is their Jeep rep that is not accepting the order now.

DId you get a VIN? It was my understanding that indicates Jeep did, in fact, accept your order.

Well, it feels like about the same time that stone rolled from in front of that cave.

In reality, June 18. So basically, an eternity in Jeep wait time.
June 18th was less than 8 weeks ago. What was your expectation? I ordered June 15th and now expect delivery mid-October. 18 weeks. Even though I was told 6 weeks as most others were, it was never my expectation.

Where are you getting mid-oct date from? I ordered June 14th(57days), still in D status and no approximate date given at all, not from dealer, jeep chat or jeep cares team. I ordered a jeep in 2019 and 2020, both arrived in under 7 weeks. I did not expect that this go around but I definitely did not expect 18 weeks. 12 weeks maybe. you have the patience of a saint.

I expected to be driving it by late July. As it is I have no idea at all when they will start the build. No one will provide any answers on the delay.

If you read the forum and keep an eye on Crypto, you will see many current order-delivery in the 6-8 week time frame.

I heard they're cancelling all non-XR package builds until they get my Jeep done. Don't get mad at me. I'm only the messenger :) Sport, Sahara, non-XR Rubi's, 4XE, non-XR 392's. You're being put on the back burner til my22. They wouldn't move mine to the front but did tell me they would do only XR builds until mine got done. The Gorilla Glass on my half doors might be holding things up, IDK.

FYI regarding cancelled orders rumors.

Dealer provided me an update today. This info was copied from my Priced Order Confirmation (POC). Buyer and VIN removed for this posting. Crypto has not updated. I was told 8-12 weeks for delivery and they may make it. In my experience it will NOT make it by the 8 weeks mark. Once it hits the train, all bets are off. No mention of cancelled orders due to shortages. If it arrives by the end of August I'll be impressed.

Last Jeep ordered sat for weeks waiting for final approach to dealer...story (mild rant) follows:

This Jeep replaces a 2021 I had ordered (none in stock with a manual to test drive) and took delivery. 3 months and 1500 miles later, I took it back to the dealer as a NO-GO. The V-6 and manual tranny was the issue. I've owned many a Jeep (CJ,TJ and JK), all manuals, and this 2021 engine/tranny combo was a whole new challenge. The wife absolutely hated it and she knows how to drive a manual gear box. She insisted on a manual as she liked the TJ. I was finally getting the hang of it...until I didn't. I believe the clutch issue, resulting sales hold in Jan 2021 and poor recall procedures performed was the culprit. Discovered the tech likely failed to "reset the throttle" as mentioned on this site. I went through the procedures and this did make the throttle/engine/tranny match-up a little better. Stalling out at lights, jack rabbit launches and clutch issues while starting out on steep grade was the major issue. I said screw it, I'm not living with this poorly designed system and traded it off. I wish Subaru or Toyota would buy the Jeep brand and clean things up on the quality front. And yes, I had to seat the fuses, as learned on this site. Did it in front of the salesman on delivery day, who was basically clueless on the quality issues.

Lost my @ss on the deal and this new order will be the last attempt for Jeep to get it right. I basically paid $3 per mile to test drive the traded Rubicon and paid msrp for this new order. I used to chase the nickels and dimes on deals and would travel thousands of miles to save a buck. I'm weary of the game and just ponied up the coin. The local dealer, unfortunately, is part of the third largest dealer game in the nation and they hold the cards if one wants to stay close to home.

Never got a VON or a VIN.
Then your salesman never placed the order. VON is instantaneous. I got mine from the dealer while I was on the phone with him placing the order.
