I'm starting to have reservations. Giving me far too much time to rethink my purchase of a $40k+ Jeep.

If signing goes wrong with increased price, less that perfect Jeep, I'll have to cancel and see what options I have then. :(

I would expect the 2019 Wrangler to get another price increase to the base MSRP. Those looking to put off until the next model year keep this expectation in mind.

Think it'll be more than $1k?

Yeah but the EcoDiesel is so tempting.

This is excellent news to 2018 JK owners looking to sell in the future

With 2018 seeing really only a handful of JLā€™s also overlapping with the final JKā€™s - and honestly a half model year at best- a price increase on 2019ā€™s seems a bit presumptuous.

Iā€™m not saying it wonā€™t happen, just saying itā€™s a mistake considering the general public isnā€™t even aware of the JL yet. Plus thereā€™s lots of unproven in the real world technology on this new model.

Bumping that price up even more isnā€™t going to make the vehicle more attractive to anyone outside the die hard wrangler niche.

I don't expect it to jump any more then $250 and with recent $750 jump I'll take a gamble and say it wont increase at all.

If the base wrangler engine gets the new mild hybrid system BSG as standard equipment for the 2019 model year , I ā€˜m thinking the base price of the MSRP might have to go up.

It might be a freebie if 2.0l will remain as ā€œupgradeā€

I very much doubt the 2.0 will be the upgrade. The reason it is $1k more is that it has the extra battery, electronics etc. The 2.0 by itself would be cheaper than the 3.6 if it was apples to apples.
My guess the 2.0 will be the standard motor for $1k more as a base price and then another $1k for the BSG 3.6 and another $3k to $4k for the diesel. Just a guess.

Very possible too, only time will show.

In rams my ecodiesel was a bit over $3k from standard hemi.
Going from pentastar to ED was $4k

Now with BSG on both should be $2k - $3k respectfully. So logically SHOULD be $3k upgrade.

But FCA is money hungry so logic does not apply.
