Doors are aluminum and the hinges are steel. They wouldn't want to make the hinges out of aluminum because they would be subject to galling when installing/removing the pins for the hinges.

What "security crap" do you refer to? I wasn't aware of any security options. Safety? Are you referring to the safety and advanced safety groups? If so, I completely disagree with you. I would order the safety and advanced safety options again in a heartbeat.

I have no regrets in all the options I ordered with my Jeep. And I ordered all of them! I especially like the safety feature options - blind spot, crash warning, ACC. I have to say they all work great. Love the premium stereo as well. It rocks!

I don't think the color of the Jeep impacts the color/style of the dash. I think the seat selection will, at least in the Sahara's case. Cloth seats=gray dash panel, Dark Saddle Leather seats=black leather dash.

I ordered a loaded Sahara on June 12th and took delivery late August. If I order the same vehicle today it is $845 more expensive. I am not sure what that tells you. Other than prices go up.
