Factory Amplifier Question???

I’ve been searching all morning for information reguarding the factory Amplifier Location. I apologize if this has been answered, But I’ve been searching and can’t find the answer I need.
I have a 2018 Sahara WITHOUT the premium audio. It is equipped with the 7” Screen.
My question is, does my system have a factory amplifier/Data Canbus setup? Or does the signal come directly from the Headunit.
I plan on running a Audio Control DSP in our Jeep and wanted to utilize the Optical in, but I can find the answer I need.
I really don’t want to splice into the factory harness and add Resistors, and saw that PAC now carries this handy unit, and wanted to be assured I have an amp before I purchase, because obviously it’ll only work with and amplified setup.

It should be under the dash to the left of the steering column behind the kick panel speaker. I have the base sound system, but there's an empty space there that theoretically would have had the amp if I'd ordered the upgraded system. One of the long upgrade-related threads here has a couple photos of the location, but I don't remember exactly which one it was.

No. There is no way to upgrade to the OEM Alpine system if the vehicle did not come with it.

wow, very disappointing from Jeep or FCA. So the 7” or 8.4” stereos can be swapped just plug and play but adding the OEM AMP and Subwoofer not. That’s no business for
Mopar.

Of course there's a way... it just depends on how much you have to change to get it to work.

I'm sure if you swapped the complete wiring harness and all related electronics, it would work.

There is 1 person that I am aware of in one of the forums that did the upgrade on the JK. All the wiring, speakers and the amp had to be sourced and purchased. The vehicle (JK nor JL) does not come with anything regarding the Alpine system if it wasn't an option on that vehicle. As I recall, it wound up costing way more than if the system was purchased stock. I am not aware of anyone ever doing it in a JL. If it were an easy task, it would have already been done.

I believe it is located under the drivers side dash begins the OBD2 port.

I am also trying to update my 2020 audio. The premium system has 2 amps, but everytime I look it up I keep trying the same amp. Not sure if I just buy two of the same amp 🥱
