Extended Warranty Needed?

I just bought one on my new 2024 392 which is my daily driver. I though the cost (online from Granger) was very reasonable for a vehicle of this price. I paid less than 2k for an 8 year/ 100k mile warranty. With all the complicated, expensive systems and the cost of service these days I thought it was a good investment.

Just curious on everyones thoughts on an extended warranty (will be a daily driver). Good, waste….if good what’s a fair price. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

8/85/$200 Max Care was ~$1200 for my 21 392 (Chrysler warranty direct). I consider it catastrophic fail insurance. I bought it for my 15 GC and never used it, but you never know. A leaking pipe in a bathroom wall covered a good 15-20 years worth of homeowners insurance a few years ago.

As others have stated it's like insurance. How risk averse are you?
Years ago I never would have purchased an extended warranty, now I buy them regularly online, not at the dealership. The incredible expense of electronic parts plus the "who knows when" supply chain + dealership backlog of work means the rental coverage alone can be worth hundreds of dollars.

My wife's HondaCare has covered many repairs on her CRV well exceeding the price of the coverage. Now that we passed the coverage date on Feb 20 she thinks she needs a new car. FML

I bought from tom hayes in Michigan max care 8 yr 85 000 mi. $1340....worth it lowesr price around even if i dont keep it for 8 yrrs figured its a good value

If you plan on keeping the vehicle outside of it's 3 year/36k mile basic warranty then buy the factory mopar max care. Do not waste your time with any other warranty. Strongly suggest buying it if you are planning on keeping the vehicle for a long time

Labor rate at my shop is approaching insane amounts, so even one decent repair is enough to justify the $2k or so for the max care plan these days

Don’t spend money on the Mopar one, I have it and it’s failed me twice. Absolute waste of money. The Wrangler is fairly reliable, unless you’re like the rest of us and drop tens of thousands to modify the Jeep. At that point, the warranty will be voided anyway.

if I were you, keep it stock and you’ve got a good chance of it lasting a long time.
