Hmm...I have the SOT, so i think the biggest benefit is that the hard back kept me from over packing them and I can still just slide my hand between the window frame and the bag to flip the latch that lets you pop out the rear windows. But if budget is at all on your mind, I'd probably just save...
Finally installed the hothead headliner for sky one-touch. It's as nice as everyone says it is. I thought the velcro on would feel a bit wonky up front but it looks fine.
Your Powerwall has a built in disconnect that allows the entire system to function when the grid is down. A standard solar install with no battery will not have this. You can use automatic transfer switches by themselves, but many jurisdictions don't allow their install without a battery.
I completely agree with you. The ramifications of this are fully understood. One objective...be "tough on China". Another objective..."build American battery capabilities". Another....someone has a large stake in a Candaian mine and likes to donate to political campaigns...
Well, currently IIRC you submit VINs when you claim the credit so they'll at least need to buy other cars, not just the single one over and over....but I'm sure someone will try.

It's no longer an EV tax credit....it's a Build American Battery Manufacturing Capacity tax credit
And that's ok....it's just not an EV credit anymore. It will be used to offset the increased costs of standing up a US/NA supply chain for batteries. It will be interesting to see which car...

This is what I plan to add to mine along with a diff cover. The 4xe actually has quite a lot of armor underneath it stock. Folks should crawl under it and poke around before just running out and buying a full kit for $2k+.
