hello everybody....

I have a big concern about my 2019 jeep sahara, the ESS system (auto stop/start) is not working properly. I took my jeep to the dealer 4 times already for same problem, they replaced everything in the system (battery, module and sensors) and works fine for a day or two and then stop working again, the last time it was in the shop, it took 3 weeks to get it back and worked fine for 1 day only.

I'm so frustrated now, I put all my savings for a good down payment, I been making my payments on time for a car that is not working properly. the service department said they did everything they know to fix it.

Please help my. What should I do know, does anybody knows what the issue it could be?. i really hope some one of you guys could help me.

honestly i don't want to start lemon car process

Hope you reply soon.

I had an issue with mine as well... ESS just stopped engaging. It took multiple trips. Resolution ended being replacing both the primary & backup battery.

In my manual transmission sport, it was the clutch pedal sensor. If yours is the automatic, I can't help, sorry.

Details man, there's a thousand different ways that junk can break.
This system should stop the engine when you stop for example in a red traffic light and when you release the brake engine should be on, but now the engine is on all time.

Are you getting any warnings or messages, what does the ESS screen in your center cluster say?
It says "battery charging" all the time

The system not engaged when stop the engine keeps on
That's what was happening with mine as I mentioned above. They initially said that my backup battery was bad, but that didn't fix it. They eventually replaced both batteries at the same time and it fixed it.

It doesn't always stop the engine. There are alot of things that turn it off, for instance if you have your AC set to "Max" it'll never shut off the engine. If your wheels are turned it won't shut off. If you step on the brake too lightly it wont shut off. If your battery is hot, or cold, it wont shut off.
