Asking for a friend. She has a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys. Her start stop, stopped working. So she took it in to be serviced. They replaced the battery for start stop. She started having issues recently She took it in to have it looked at. There were some wires cut up in drivers side fender. Looks like someone taped them back up and left some bare ones. She has owned this since new. There should be no reason to have those wires messed with. Would that have been done while doing the start stop battery. She also had bumper replaced. All done by dealership.

Would there be any reason why those wires were cut

Afaik, the 'start stop battery' is just the regular "car" battery + auxiliary battery. Both are on the passenger side of a JL

Pictures of wires could help with better answers, but no reason for anything left as you’re describing.

No, it doesn't make sense for them to have cut and subsequently taped wires.

Note that there's a main battery and an aux battery. When one dies the other goes with it, so if they replaced one then it's extremely likely that the other will go soon.

I'm thinking she'll need to go back to the same dealership to have it dealt with. Another (more competent) dealership probably won't want to clean up the mess.

Did the 2021 Willys come with Aux switches? These could be the wires for those. I believe they are in the driver's side.

Photo?

The AUX (ESS) battery is located on the passenger side, so it seems unlikely wire cutting on the driver side would be related.

That will help. These pics appear to be in the interior. Drivers side footwell under the dash rather than the fender area. Is the last pic the passenger side footwell or behind the glove box? Maybe some wider views with better lighting will help as well. I can’t see why a mechanic would have any reason to be there related to a bumper or batteries. I know my reply is not really helping but maybe someone else knows.

Her Jeep is completely stock. Only time she has had it worked is for bumper replacement (stock) and the start/stop. The reason why it went in to dealer this time is the Jeep wouldn’t start. The dealership found all the wires like in the pictures. This is the place that did the bumper. They are always so busy so when she needed the start/stop fixed she went to one about 20 miles away. She has only had all her service done at dealership

Very frustrating. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable here can help.

The green dohicky looks like a can buss, or part of the high speed communication system between the various computer modules. I don recall the color coding, but the loose wires look like they could be associated with the auxiliary switches. On the 23 JLURD all of this is on the passenger side behind the glove box. I don’t recall seeing a can buss on the drivers side, but have never looked.
