Thank you so much for your feedback. I have only driven the car locally since I got it back. The light usually goes on when I am driving longer distances which I will be doing later this week. .I will keep you posted!
Spoken too soon!! After approximately a 40 minute trip the light went on again!! Will be back at the dealership Monday!!!

@lovemyjeep ouch. Ask them to check the vacuum pump to see if itā€™s running hot if youā€™re so inclined to offer a suggestion. If it is, have them check the vacuum hose coming off the vacuum pump to see if itā€™s allowing it to pull vacuum. I never got the diagnosis on mine but when they hooked up to the system (engineer) with a computer, they found it wasnā€™t pulling enough vacuum causing the pump to run constantly and overheat. The engineer swapped the hose with another JL on the lot and itā€™s been fine since. He hooked mine up to that Jeep and it threw the code. My other service manager found the valve or whatever in that hose to be installed backward when he had one come in with similar symptoms. Mine kept getting C125292 last year (vacuum pump circuit control performance).

Yes- I will offer that suggestion. I have been patient and calm but this is becoming a major inconvenience and will reach out to the service manager tomorrow. Thank you.

my service ESC light has been coming on the last few months. Its increased in frequency to where now its coming on every time I drive. Ive been waiting about 4 months to get it into the local dealer but they always say they have no rentals available. Why are these dealerships so hard to deal with? Never return calls or emails or texts, I have to show up in person to talk to anybody and then get fed a bunch of b.s.....I love my jeep but I hate the service experience so far....and this sounds like it may be a multiiple visit fix :headbang:
Hi LowCountry,
Have you considered contacting a different Jeep dealership in your area to get this addressed? You can enter your zip code here to view all certified Jeep dealerships in your area: https://www.jeep.com/find-dealer.html. If you see any dealerships that have received a Customer First award this means that this dealer has achieved the highest level of customer experience recognition in five core areas: people, facility, processes, customer metrics and training certification. We're happy to help with this process as well! Please send us a private message if you have any questions.

Ok now this is interesting!

Does the vacuum pump make any noise?

I keep getting a weird whirring/grinding noise, particularly on 4lo descents, and it seemed worse when I was also getting both ESC/ESS lights earlier this week

@skrubi12 thanks a lot, totally saved my day.... had ESC light on most of the time, or max. 20 minutes into a ride on my Pacifica (which uses the same parts as Jeep). Got both batteries changed, vacuum pump changed, various software updates, ESC ECU changed, till we finally focused on that hose (and valve) you mentioned... looks like it's fixed now!

At least FCAā€™s suppliers are consistently bad. Glad you got it worked out! FWIW, Iā€™m about 18 months post fix and havenā€™t had the issue since.

Glad I found this thread! I have taken my JL to the dealer 2 times now for this problem. They replaced the pump and battery, but not the hoses and or the pressure sensor, and guess who is 4k miles out of warranty... THIS GUY!

Do any of you know if part number 68289576AB (Left hand drive, Vacuum Hose) is the part that is causing this headache. Dealer wanted $463 dollars to fix it, and this looks like a 35 dollar part. Also keep in mind, I used to work for a chevy dealership and know how dealerships work. I have a lift and everything in my home shop and am very capable of repairing just about anything. I just need to make sure that this is the hose y'all replaced! Thank you!

@Hagewood91 sobhebdoesnt know the part but said youā€™ll know it if you look at the hose. Thereā€™s an arrow on the check valve that will be pointing the wrong way.

Planning to take my JL to the dealer for other things and would sure like to have them look at this.

Is anyone aware of an actual TSB by now related to vac pump or hose?

Also, I got to looking at the vac pump today....somehow I never realized they placed it directly behind the fan and in front of the engine. Pretty hot area as it gets blasted by all the hot air the fan pulls out of the radiator. Doesn't seem like a great place for an electric pump......

So my ESC malfunction indicator light seems to come on pretty randomly. I can drive and drive with no issues. If I park and idle for a few minutes, BAM, it comes on. Turn the Jeep off, turn it back on, light is off. Anyone experience this situation of the light and message coming on, but disappearing upon next start, only to come on randomly later?

I have the same problem with our 2018 JLRU, in researching the vacuum pump operation i was able to feel that the vacuum line that Tees off the line from the vacuum pump to the intake manifold had vacuum on it when disconnect from the intake. I added a check valve to inhibit the flow of vacuum from the pump to the intake, but allow vacuum flow from the intake to the vacuum system. One test drive down and no issues. I guess i will just order a new vacuum line set and see what happens.

For what itā€™s worth, I havenā€™t had an issue since they addressed this 4 years ago.
