Engine temps

It get hot very easily if you do some sand dune driving. Also when off-roading in slow speed oil temp goes to 240+

100% normal, doesn't mean it's good though. Prob will add an oil cooler.

The thermostat people are all wrong. Every time this same thread comes up, you have the old farts with the "my 69 chevy doesnt run that hot so my new Jeep shouldn't either" mindset.

I can't speak to that one but the Ron Davis one we'll be installing will be extremely beneficial. I'll post before/after once we've got it done -- don't take my word for it, just wait for the results. Waiting until weather warms up, though. My buddy's other Gladiator 392 customer is also getting one.

I'll be leaving the stock tstat.

The best it can do is bring oil temp closer to coolant temp, which under heavy load may be helpful but won't address the non-problem of overall high temps.

YMMV but I don’t like 255 oil temps. That is high, regardless of how you feel. Synthetic oils will start to break down over time if you’re regularly hitting 250+ oil temps. I don’t want mine that high, therefore I’m going to explore other options. ALL of the good aftermarket Hemi/Hellcat tuners recommend a lower temp thermostat for better power/tuning ability. I’m going to have mine tuned, possibly cammed, and I’m swapping to a lower thermostat. If I also see a drop in oil temps I’ll post about it. To each their own.

To be honest it’s a light duty passenger vehicle, the cooling system sucks if you ask them to do anything outside of normal public street driving.

like anything real commercial grade, definitely felt the quality compared to consumer counterpart, even it may not have better numbers on paper.

It’s more like an dumb gauge to keep people piling up dealer service department. The gauge is not to scale.

the mid point is NOT/NOP for nearly all automotive purposes.

Any updates? Also slots 1 and 7 of the grill are covered over by what appears to be a plastic structure, is this able to be removed or partially removed to increase air flow?
