Fake engine noise?

When I push the button to turn off my performance exhaust, I hear my speakers crackle once in a while. Are we fed artificial noise into the cabin?

Ha, I think you may have your 392 confused with the Gen 2 Raptor!

My guess is that you have a loose ground somewhere. If its still under warranty this would be something great for the dealership to get to the bottom of...

No there is no artificial sound from the speakers. During the 392 launch they mentioned that the sound "is not fabricated though the speakers"

The TRX has that in "feature" in Sport mode.

Haaaahaahahahahaha. Fake sports car sounds, in a sports car/truck. How pathetic. I thought it was sad when they did that with electric vehicles. Maybe pump a big block Chevy sound into a 4 banger, so that the kids of today can see what they missed. Hey, if your engine sounds like a rabid popcorn popper, own it I say.

I actually thought the 392 had fake sound. There was someone here that disconnected the 4 mic's and effectively disabled "active noise control" and said it changed the engine noise.

Porsche did this on my 2017 718 Cayman S. Always hated it. You could just pull the fuse on the "noisemaker" but I never got around to it.

Nice! I had a deep water blue challenger.

And the TRX supercharger whine is not piped in and overrides any fake noise that may or may not exist.

Is the crackling just when you press the button, or heard occasionally while the loud button is turned off. If it's heard while the exhaust is in quiet mode, you likely have a loose wire in your audio system. You probably don't hear it when the loud button is turned on, but when the cabin is quiet, you hear all kinds of things that otherwise you wouldn't.
