5 year corrision, get it to a dealership with a body shop for pictures and corporate approval immediately. Depending on the date it was put in service by the first owner you are cutting it very close.

You didn't see that before you bought it?
Look at the edges and inside seams of your hood and doors, chances are you have more corrosion than just around the hinges.

No to be honest it was not the vehicle I went in to get and I rushed the process my bad I know better than to do that but I’ve talked to the company I bought the jeep from and they are going to fix it here soon

Fix it? That's an insanely expensive proposition.

I see the word fixed used a lot! I hope what they are doing, is just not a Band-Aid. I haven't seen anything from the Factory saying, that what they are doing is a permanent fix! The 2024's and 2025's should answer this question.

Why would the 2024s+ be any different than the previous years? Are you thinking they'll perfect their prep work?

I have absolutely know confidence in the Jeep Factory's ability to find solutions, to their issues. I for one really don't think that quality control is a priority for them. But just maybe, they will stumble onto a fix someday. Time will tell.

The zinc shims should help a little.
Only for galvanic corrosion directly associated with the bolts. Not for the corrosion around the edges of the aluminum door or hood.

Dealers outright replace the panels now, they don't repair them anymore. One the chemeical process has started it'll always come back, so replacement is the only solution. If the panel isn't properly treated before painting then that's on them. Due to the raw chemistry involved I suspect this to be an issue throughout the entire models lifespan. It effects more models then just our JLs. The pacifica hoods are notorious for it as well.

Odd question, anyone know if you can purchase the zinc shims? I looked on the Mopar parts site but didn’t see it.
