I have an 08 and just left them. No issue other than looks, but over time the other scars of use kind of mask it.
I contacted Jeep and there going to give me a rental once the parts are ordered and I take it to the dealership since the dealership I have to go to doesn’t have rentals. Jeep also tok
It's not different metals. The hinges and doors are both aluminum as is the hood. The zinc shim was added to the hinges as a sacrificial anode to delay the corrosion spreading to the doors. Too early to tell how effective it will be. I'd check the inside seam on the bottom of your doors and hood for signs of corrosion because that's where it starts before it eventually spreads to the outside of the panel. Once there is corrosion in the hem flange, there is no repairing it, the panel needs to be replaced as per the TSB
Yea they most likely are going to replace all the hinges and doors when I take it to the dealership I have a Jeep claim open just in case, but Jeep told me they most likely will agree with me and replace everything cause if they don’t I know what will happen. 😂

Is it just on the hinges, or on the door too?

Note that you need to take it to a dealership so the appropriate paperwork can be started. I'm thinking the warranty is 5(?) years. Be warned that it's several thousands of dollars of work for them to "fix" it, so don't wait.
I've got this issue too but I'm so torn on getting it fixed. I've got paint that is 4 years old and has seen a lot of trails. That door, once repainted, will stick out like a sore thumb. I wonder if there is another route.

Another route? None that I can think of.

If the rest of your paint is so trashed that a non-trashed door would look out of place then maybe you just let it be? I've got a crapload of "Colorado pinstripes" that would abruptly stop at the door, then continue on the other side if the door was repainted.

I have recently seen that corrosion is appearing on many of my door hinges on my 2021 JLUR Gecko but the weird thing is that on one door it’s both hinges and on another door its just one hinge from what I can see. I have entered a claim with Jeep to get all the door hinges replaced because I don’t have time to take it to the dealership I have to go. Has anyone had a similar situation?
My 2018 had the same problem jeep payed for all doors and tailgate hinges. I have not had any issues with hood hinges

I sprayed cavity wax in all the seams on the doors, tailgate and hood to prevent the edges from corroding. I replaced all the hinges on tailgate, doors and hood. While I had the hinges off, I sanded and sealed the raw aluminum to prevent oxidation, and put a 3M silicone gasket between each hinge and the mating panel. So far so good. Just an example of what one hinge looked like. I didn’t have a picture of it epoxy sealed.. but the end result look pretty good

Yea the first time it happened was on the hood and the hinges they repainted the hood and it’s been good ever since. On the other hand the Hood hinges did start corroding again so I had to take it again and after not listening to us the first time that they needed to replace the hinges not the, they replaced the hood hinges like a month ago. The dealership I’m taking my Wrangler to on Saturday replace the parts so I’m not worried and I have a claim open with Jeep just in case.

On my 24 I just bought they sold me and extended corrosion warranty for like $1,200.00. Think it extends it to like 8 or 10yrs I can't remember now....they attached a sacrificial anode somewhere underneath....idk it's prob all a scam...lol

No they put a zinc plate layer in the back of the door hinges now I’ve seen the new hinges and Stellantis said that dealerships are required to replace the hinges to the new zinc ones

If they told you they did something like that, you just bought $1200 worth of snake oil

Can you still get a refund? There are a lot of articles that debunk that as actually working.
