Let me rephrase my answer.

Because I find complete strangers who are trying to make some sort of connection based on a mass produced vehicle as their identity through some sort of shared brotherhood is dumb. That is why I don't wave.

Better?

No, you don't wave because you're a dick.;)

I wave at every Wrangler and Gladiator, even if they do not wave back. If I see the same Jeep every day and they never wave back, I will still wave at them every time. They have the right not to wave back, but I have the right to wave every time. Working at an Air Force base, most people wave back. In the area of my house, not so much. But at least 50+ % will wave back off base...

Jeep life is about ALL Jeep owners, not just a handful trying to reshape what it is. Wave, don't wave. Duck, don't duck. It is that simple.

I wish it was, but the pages and pages of bickering about waves and ducks paint a different picture. Lots of folks dumping out their purses here over something that SHOULD be so simple.

Yep, back in the TJ days Jeep sold around 70k-90k a year, now they are selling 300k plus a year, just not worth it anymore. I used to see one or two Jeeps every time I went out, now I can’t even count them all. Waving died when they made the 4 door.

Huh. I didn't realize they had jumped that much. Makes sense. There are a lot more brodozer/soccer mom jeeps now than 12 years ago, thats for sure.

On Maui there are many rental Jeeps so I wave when I see it’s a local Jeep. Tourists don’t get it.

5% is legal in CA?

35% is the limit on the front two windows here in NC, and no tint is allowed below the AS1 line on the windshield. They do check during inspections, though you can find shops that will pass it. However if the offending shop gets caught, it's a huge fine.

I've been meaning to get the back doors, hardtop windows, and rear glass tinted darker though since those are exempt on an SUV (Jeep) here in NC.
You may wanna re-think tinting your back door windows. I did that when I had my 4-Runner & couldn’t see through them at night. 😳 (I just placed a light tint on them). All pending on how dark you go, it kills your blindspot. I’m old school so looking in mirrors is secondary to the over the shoulder look.

Say it to whom? The real bikers there or the vast majority of middle age motorcycle riders that are LARPing as bikers? But then again, that'd be the 99%ers who like to think they're convincing in their wannabe Halloween costumes and revving their open pipes 'cause "they're Rebels, Dottie."
